+ Very friendly guy who greeted us the first time and spoke to a few other times over the course of our stays,

+ Clean tidy toilets and showers,

+ No kitchen but an outside sink to wash up in,

+ Hot & cold drinking water available free,

+ Washing machine use available.

- 2nd visit the lady wasnt very welcoming and told us off for not disturbing them to check in,

- ladies shower has no lock and due to there being only 2 showers generally the showers are used by either sex whenever needed,

We initially went here primarily for IAC Internet use to upload pictures but so glad we did.

We stayed 1 night $18pp power.

+ Fantastically friendly couple who own and run the park. Really friendly welcome from Gary when we arrived and the from Karen and 'shy' Nelly the dog the next morning,

+ Toilets very clean and tidy,

+ Whole camp is very clean, tidy and really well looked after,

+ Free BBQ in little covered area,

+ Good wifi coverage throughout,

+ Lovely animals around the grounds,

+ Got to feed toe sheep, alpacas and George the goat,

+ Gary gave us 2 still warm eggs to take away,

+ The Barn......oh my goodness, lovely big kitchen area with loads and loads of utensils to borrow, slow cookers and stove cookers to use. Nice big comfy leather sofas dotted about this huge space with games, magazines and books all free to read and use. Then to top it off a 52' tv on the wall with sky to watch.

+ Kids playground just outside the barn area.

So stupidly worth it to stay in this place was a true delight.

We stayed here for 1 night, had planned for a second but after earthquakes the road was shut due to slip fears.

+ Free,

+ Toilet clean and not too smelly,

+ Right over road from beach,

+ Just a little drive to Ohau point and waterfall to see seal pups.

- Quite noisy, next to road and railway track. A couple of trains went past in night and they were not quiet about it.

We stayed here for 4 nights.

+ $5pp so nice and cheap,

+ Clean toilets with nice proper squirty soap,

+ Security gates locked over night so you feel nice and safe,

+ Power socket in kitchen area,

+ 6 FREE BBQs in the 2 big covered kitchen areas as well as sinks,

+ Lovely surrounding grass areas.

Really nice place to stay, really quiet and some friendly ducks which had no qualms about being fed bread and crisps by hand :)

We stayed here before our ferry early next morning to South Island.

+ Very convenient location,

+ Very friendly and helpful staff,

+ Very clean facilities. (Toilet and shower)

- Hugely expensive $50 per site,

- Very loud as right next to road and dock. We had a ferry bubbling away in dock until after midnight then another one start at 6am.

+/- realistically is a powered car park in middle of city with showers.

We stayed here for 1 night after a day whale watching.

We stayed on power and it was $12pp

+ Fantastic views,

+ Friendly staff member,

+ You have use of facilities in goose bay which are clean and spacious. Although they are 1km down the road at the office,

+ We saw a couple of seals playing in morning but no dolphins.

- Onsite facilities not worth the money, 1 flush toilet for men and 1 for women and the women's didn't have a lock on.

We ended up staying here for 4 nights over 2 stops.

+ Free,

+ Lots of space and different areas to park,

+ Toilet had toilet roll and soap,

+ Right on beach so you can feel the awesome massive waves coming in,

+ Fantastic moon and sun rises here,

+ Awesome views of big surf and snowy mountain in half a turn are ridiculous,

+ Awesome to wake up to big surf and a seal in the morning.

- The long drop toilet is more short drop due to popularity of spot.

We stayed here for 1 night on a powered site and it was $35 per site although summer rates are $60 per site.

+ All facilities top draw,

+ View and location is fantastic,

+ Reasonably priced in winter although wouldn't go in summer,

+ Lots of pitches.

- Pitches quite close together,

- There's a couple of public walkways through camp so a constant stream of walkers and runners going past.

Fantastic views when you get to the top viewpoint and even better ones when you get to the bottom and climb the hill.

We could have stayed there all day with the 360 degree panoramic views we had up there. Absolutely awesome!!

We meant to stay here for 1 night but it progressed to 3.

$16pp power.

+ Great location, right on the beach but close to town,

+ Very clean and tidy facilities,

+ Good wifi coverage,

+ Games room with telly and table tennis table (where unfortunately I took a beating from my very competitive girlfriend,

+ Very friendly staff.

- Only sour point, on our last night it seemed they had hired out a kitchen area for a private gathering of people who were very loud throughout the evening and when they left at some point after midnight they were very loud and swearing. In morning we saw some empty alcohol bottles from their passing.

Great place to stay if visiting Gisborne.

We ventured to this place after rejecting Wairoa River reserve just around the corner.

We stayed for 2 nights.

+ Toilets open to public but are locked overnight,

+ Quieter than expected,

+ Big open area to park in,

- Quite regular trains making a racket as well as the ship yard

We made the long journey down to this campsite (Although I got us a little lost by not reading the map properly) and stayed for 1 night.

We stopped in here for a couple of nights when looking to find work in Hastings and loved the welcome and location so when we found work we spoke to the manager (Noel) and he was nice enough to give us

a deal for our 3 month stay. Normal price is good anyway ($25per power site)

+ Cheap,

+ Very, very friendly manager (Noel) was awesome and chatty every time we spoke, loves a "Sweet as" :)

+ Fantastic location, right on the beach front,

+ Awesome views,

+ Friendly ducks roaming the grounds as right next to lagoon,

+ Has some residents there but all are really welcoming and friendly.

+ All facilities very clean and looked after,

+ Lucky enough to be there when a pod of killer whales swam past. Awesome!!

- BBQs were quite dirty and didn't seem to work,

- No wifi,

We loved our stay and called it home for quite a while. May end up heading back before we head home too. Great place and lovely surrounding village. Sweet As!!

We stayed here for 1 night, could have easily been more.

+ The sites are right on the beach which almost seems like a private beach,

+ Ridiculously fantastic views,

+ Very friendly welcome and staff,

+ Loads of room to choose from,

+ Shower very roomy, cold water but in summer was lovely,

- Showers had quite a few wasps buzzing around in them,

- Toilets long drop but the drop isn't very long anymore,

- No toilet roll in any of the cubicles, male or female.

Loved it though was a nice $20 per site and is a great place to stay before exploring up to the Cape or after.

We stayed here a number of times over our year stay in New Zealand and have love it every time.

+ Free!!

+ Right on Lake Taupo,

+ Awesome views of the mountains and surrounds in both summer and snow capped in winter,

+ Is very quiet except that its under the sky jumps drop zone so you can here lots of whoops and shouts :)

+ Cleanest long drop toilets we've seen. Virtually no smell.

- Only minor negative is its a little drive out of Taupo but that is also a little bit good as doesn't get too busy.

+ There is some fantastic views not the drive form the south,

+ We're pretty sure we saw some kiwis whilst we were here,

- Toilets a bit smelly,

- Very difficult to find,

- When we were there, there seemed to be an abandoned car with doors and windows open stuck half in a bush.

+ The views from this place are fantastic, well worth a walk or ride around up to the lookout point,

+ Very friendly rangers about if you need any help,

+ Nice and cheap for all you getting,

+ Friendly peacocks about.

+ All the facilities were really clean and tidy. (Laundry/toilets/kitchen)

+ The Internet coverage was fantastic and had a Internet caravan too.

+ Friendly staff.

- Very tight and compact sites. Seemed like the tent sites didn't have any where to park their cars so encroached on the power sites a bit.

We stayed her for 3 nights whilst we waited for the weather to sort it's self out so we could visit Hobbiton.

+ Fantastically cheap, $10 a night for power,

+ Clean toilets open all night,

+ Ridiculously friendly lady, after parking up the weather became horrible. Even though the museum was closed the next day the lady drove in specifically to warn us about parking under the big tree in storm as branches have been known to fall,

+ Surprisingly quiet right next to road.

This is a little diamond of a spot to stay overnight if doing the Hobbiton bits.

+ Great location for the caves,
