Lovely quiet site.
Lots of space, very private.
A bit dated , but kept very clean.
The $2 per shower was well worth it, considering the cheap price for a powered site.
Good data signal 4G
Wi-Fi not so strong.
Very pleased, recommend for small children, as a very safe site.

Good spot along the coast!
Very friendly owners 🤙🏼 clean facilities, kitchen, toilets and showers ($2) there weren’t too many people when we stayed so had an intimate and quiet spot. Would definitely go back!

Nice place.
Very uncomplicated. Clean lavatories. Though local dog chased the penguins, so none breeding.

Take my two kids here every year!
Hosts are friendly but fair, and the camp retains that old kiwi style with basic facilities and wide open areas for kids to play. Very close to the river, and nice short walk to the beach with walking tracks winding their way through the area. Love it!!

I did not feel welcome here at all!
Unpowered site for 15 $. Power would have been 7 $. Wifi very weak on the side with the unpowered spots. Very unfriendly lady on the entrance. She didn't explain much. I had to ask for everything. Payment only possible by cash or bank transfer. So if your customer chooses bank transfer (due to not having cash) wouldn't you wanna ask them if they need coins for the shower? 2 $ for 6 minutes. Or at least tell them that the shower isn't included in the price?
Campground was very empty. Looked like only long term campers are there.
You could hear birds and the ocean. That was nice. Kitchen and toilets were clean. Quite a big area for camping on both sides. Looks like this place is for sale. Maybe that's the reason for being so grumpy.

We had a truly magical time here, with plenty of space for our large group and our dogs.
The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The campground is a beautiful, well laid out area and the facilities were always extremely clean. We have decided to make this our new family camping spot, couldn't recommend highly enough.

Just had 10 of the most fantastic days ever at this camping ground.
The hosts bend over backwards to help. Always clean and well presented. Will be staying here again. I reccomend this camp to anyone wanting a true Kiwi camping experience the way it used to be.

The camping ground has a charm all of its own.
My family and I have been going there since its humble beginings. The Jones's have done a remarkable job getting it to where it is today, but because of a few narrow minded people are being held back in doing more for their community.
The spirit is high amoungst regulars, the fishing trips are worth taking and the peacefulness is just great.
There always a good chat to be had round the Barbe of an evening. Aj's never short of a word

Very pleasant site.
Friendly owners. Good, cosy kitchen area. Clean toilets. 4 minute $1 showers. $20 for a powered site.
The campsite is an open grassy area which was very water-logged when we were there - this caused a problem when trying to leave. we got stuck in the mud! But quick as a flash the owner (still in her dressing gown) came out to help push, as well as another female camper. A great example of helpful, dont-mind-getting-their-hands-dirty kiwi women! We were very impressed!
