Friendly owner.
Though cabin is clean and overall pretty ok, facilities esp kitchen was pretty run down and filthy. If you are picky better avoid. Fast and unlimited free wifi though!

Nice location and well maintained campground.
Clean and tidy facilities. 6min free hot shower which you might extend by walking out of the cabin and re-pressing the button at the front of the door. Cozy standard cabin with comfy beds, a fridge, kettle & toaster. The sound of the timer which needs to be switched on in order to operate the heater is a bit annoying. Kitchen got very crowded and we had to queue in order to cook. Bring your own pots, pans etc. Washing machine good but runs only with cold water. The TV room next to the kitchen is nicke though fairly small. A downside is that although "free wifi" is advertised in accommodation guides, this is apparently not true. You have to buy IAC wifi at reception. Funny enough though when checking in I was told that there is 30min free wifi but when my husband went there later on to get the password, he was told the campground doesn't provide free wifi at all.
Hi there, we apologise about the confusion surrounding wifi - there has always been free wifi here and since becoming a TOP 10 we offer 100mbs for free per device per 24 hours with the option of purchasing more if required. Very friendly host / nice basic cabin with own bathroom and shower / even tent sites do have their private WC+shower, first time I came across sth like this in NZ campgrounds / very clean, well maintained
sites / kitchen ok, clean and tidy / no wifi and quite a lot lake flies (don't bite though) / Great spot to stay when passing by

Super friendly manager (Rob) who makes you feel very welcomed.
Wish we'd have had more time to stay longer. Facilities are very clean and well maintained. Only $5 per person for a tent site, but it has a kitchen (equipped with a small table, kettle, fridge, freezer, stove, pots & pans), flush toilets and hot showers ($2 per token). Even laundry ($2) is available. Fantastic value for money. Can only recommend.

Raetihi Holiday Park & Cabins
A nice and cozy place.
Rebecca and Ben are great hosts and make you feel very welcomed. We booked our canoe trip on the Whanganui river with them (well maintained equipment, unlike some others in the region) and stayed in a tent on our first night. Nice green spots. A safe place to park the car while away for the trip. When we came back we decided to stay another night and booked the cabin. Our hosts prepared hot coffee and tea for all of us to warm up. The cabin and showers are clean and tidy, the kitchen is well equipped with all you need and heaters in there to warm up. Washing machine and dryer are tops. Overall great stay and definitely recommended.

Cable Bay Holiday Park
Lovely campground and very friendly host.
Jo welcomed us with a warm smile which immediately convinced us to stay for the night. The place is in a great location and there is a nice walk with a gorgeous view on the bay. The facilities are very clean and the kitchen well equipped. Hot showers on site and the opportunity for laundry is provided. Cabins are limited (only 2), so better book in advance. Overall great stay. Absolutely recommended.
