A very nice and tidy camp, hosts Fiona and John are extremely helpful and friendly.
$19 pp on a powered camp site is a good deal to me, water and power right there, all facilities are okay with me, we’ll be back again for sure

Something a little different, a huge area where you can stop and set up wherever you like.
Plenty of clean long drop toilets, fresh water and a minutes walk to the sea across white sands.
Managed by Ray and Cindy, very pleasant hosts. Cost $13 pp a night. We were provided with a rubbish bag and told we could dispose of that and recycled stuff at the exit gate on the way out.
No power but there are hot and cold showers. Very nice.

A beautiful camp on the bay, incredible views, we had the best site right by the gate, the dump station and power and water, couldn’t ask for better.
Toilets nice and clean and management obliging and friendly.
$38 a night for two with NZMCA discount.
Oh we will most certainly go again.
Thank you for your comments. We look forward to your return visit.

We arrived Easter Thursday with our caravan and stayed over night.
The place was absolutely full of mainly camper vans.
Ten thousand people and only one long drop toilet. As we’re in our mid 70’s, it was most ‘convenient’ pardon the pun, to park by the only bog in town. Then when we could see the queue had stopped temporally, we were in like Flynn. We do have an onboard toilet but poo still smells like poo! Ugh.
The long drop was very clean and no smell. Do NOT forget to take paper or you’ll wind up like Robinson Crusoe and opt for a finger, haaa ha.
It was a very pleasant place to stay, awesome views and no cost, a pensioners dream come true.

What a lovely camp, helpful and friendly management and staff, nice clean abloutions and amazing views.
The sites we had all had their own grey water drain, water supply and power, magic.
I can not understand whingers that cry on about camp fees, hey if you’re that poor go camp in a farmers paddock, I’m pleased I don’t have you for a neighbour. Get over it

I struggle with cheap skates that would moan if something cost a dollar, you don’t deserve to camp in New Zealand if you can’t open your wallet, you’ll die the richest moaner in the cemetery.
Having got that off my chest.
A great place, 2019 and still $10 pp for a power site with toilet and hot showers available.
You MUST go to the Caltex petrol station first and get it sorted, then it’s a breeze and a great place to stop over.
Moaners not needed or wanted, be positive and appreciative of our beautiful country, not destructive.

A lovely little freedom camp, two clean flush toilets and easy access to a lovely white sand beach.
We are so luck to have these places in NZ.

This motor camp cares about their campers, Martinborough is suffering bad drinking water at the moment, the camp has a full mobile water tanker on site for campers, well done.
Lovely and clean facilities and sites, good price if you’re a TopTen member and use the discount.
Lovely people in the office, highly recommended.

A very nice camp apart from our caravan site was very boggy, still that’s life.
Friendly staff, $31.50 for two on a power site with NZMCA discount. Clean toilets and showers.
I loved all the massive eels and the biggest would have been so welcome in my smoker but the eel police have a sign up No Fishing, lucky eels and trout, haaaa haaa.

My comments are the same as Brad.
It’s old but clean and it cost us $31.50 a night for two adults on a power site with NZMCA discount. The office lady was lovely and wasn’t Hitler like some are, we had a lovely stay.
Not many sites are near the water tap.

Yes I agree, the woman who served us in the office had attitude and the personality of a zombie, it was like she didn’t want to be there and I wish the same!
However, the camp was lovely, spacious and apart from a groundsman who mowed the lawns the entire time we arrived until almost dark, we enjoyed the quail running around.

The sites are hard to get our 24 foot caravan in and out and there are huge boulders on all the lane corners, it’s a bit of a mission to negotiate around but other than that it’s a nice camp.
It was badly let down by a lot of foreigners with filthy, low life habits in the toilets, it seems they were brought up living like pigs in a ISIS prison camp. I can’t imagine what they do in their own homes and thank the camp cleaners for doing the impossible to constantly clean for us humans!
Thank you for your comments, yes we have a high international market at our holiday park who due to cultural differences have varying levels of what is acceptable regarding personal hygiene and appropriate behaviors. We are so glad that your housekeeping were able to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout your stay.

Sour woman at reception, the world owed her.
No free wi-fi. The rubbish skips were overflowing and full of roaches, an absolute disgrace. It is full of weirdo perms and looks like the main site out of Chainsaw massacre!
Right by the train tracks and they went half the night, we will never be going back there again, now I know what it’s like to live in the ghetto.
No discount on NZMCA $45 a night in Winter!

Despite some negative reports on this fantastic website, I was beginning to think maybe we'll pass this camp by, but I'm pleased we didn't.
We've never been here before but will definitely come again. Jenny Barlow greeted us and husband Harry guided us on his quad to our site on the hill. Yes, he wants you to park just so, he's that sort of a guy, but he was very friendly and we treated him as our host. We had a fun exchange of banter over thirty minutes before setting up our caravan. There were friendly tame goats tethered around the camp eating up the grass on the banks where the mower couldn't reach. Yes, some of the the camp facilities are a little tired and could use some extra TLC, the owners have been here 23 years and I guess they are a little over it, as I would be.
Realise that you are camping for a couple of days or just over night, so make the most of your stop over and quit moaning about the little things, have a wine and enjoy the fact you are alive and enjoying this beautiful moment in time.
The harbour views are wonderful, the fee of $20 per person for a power site with water is very competitive. No wi-fi, so..... buy your own hotspot device if you need wi-fi, I have.

Lovely, friendly and helpful hosts, free unlimited wi-fi, wonderful spotless facilities, right on the Buller river, we had a visit from a Weka.
Wild apple tree still fruiting, a big strawberry mound, crab apples, Robin the boss called on us after we'd set up and again the next morning to make sure we were okay, he stood there in the rain! Someone buy him a Swandri! $25 for two adults included power and water on site for our big caravan. Unheard of, is this really April 2016? We will certainly go back if we get down that way again. Highly recommended for those who enjoy peace and tranquility.
Putting in free Wifi accessible throughout the camp was not an easy task, but it was something our visitors needed. The best way for us to improve our camp is to listen to our guests suggestions. Thank you for your lovely review. We'll let the weka know you've appreciated his visit.

A lovely place, with a discount it was $41 a night for two adults, we were told to park where we liked so we went right next to the boat ramp. The tide was full and came right up to the grass and went out a real long way by low tide, not much in the way of shellfish. The camp facilities were nice and clean and the boss was friendly, it was a pleasant three day stay. There's a good equipment shop outside the camp with everything you could want, hardware, food, drinks, bait etc
DON'T miss out going to the salmon farm down the road, catch your own salmon and pay $22 a kg for it, they will smoke it or you can take it away and do your own which is what we did, yum!

A friendly lady at reception, cost $88 for three nights which is good, no discount for NZCA members.
You have to buy wi-fi if you want it. Facilities are a bit rumpty, quite a lot of permanent campers and their below standard old heaps of rubbish caravans and buses spoiling the scene. Despite there being two large NO FISHING signs by the stream, I saw a woman standing there with a fly rod, then she disappeared down stream a little to do whatever! There were heaps of eels, trout and ducks there, back to nature, very nice.

The sites were small and it cost $50 a night.
The people there were filling in for the owners and were very obliging. The facilities were nice and clean. Here is a good bit of advice, if you find chestnuts on the ground, just up above the spa pool complex, DON'T eat them. They look like the regular sweet ones but they are horse chestnuts and poisonous! Being a bit of a scavenger, I collected and cooked some up, one bite fixed me. Looking on the net it was a big no-no. A handy place to stay to catch the ferry.

Admittedly the camp had been severely flooded only two weeks prior, when the river overflowed, so there was still mud and clay all over the place and on some of the sites, so this was walked into showers
and toilet blocks. The office staff were very helpful. We had a reasonable view of the glacier, we probably won't stay there again all the same.

The staff were wonderful, obliging and very helpful in booking tours for us, the camp in general was lovely.
The rubbish skips were so full they spewed broken bottles and rubbish on the ground.
Free WiFi for guests was down and didn't work the three days we were there, and that the satellite toilet blocks were all of a sudden CLOSED for repairs from Monday on, it was a convenient place to be to get to wherever around the city. It is a nice venue for the average Joe Bloggs camper.

A lovely camp, Dianne made us most welcome and wangled things so we could park up our 8 metre caravan on a site, they seem to cater more for camper vans and smaller caravans.
Very idyllic and as to one review here..... WHAT road noise? It is a lovely peaceful spot. Top marks.
