North Island ▷ Taupo Region ▷ Taupo ▷
Bad drop toilets (almost full with lot of insect in it).
No water available. Its just a car park ( hard to find a flat spot.)
But there are a lot of spots available. Its quiet with a lot of trees around.
The dam is of course the Highlights of this place. few planed water release a day. With a short walk in the forest you can find a nice lookout to see the water flow in the gorges. Its gorgeous...
By the way, it was the place where they film the barrels in the river scene from the hobbits.
North Island ▷ Northland ▷ Whangarei ▷
Fine for a night.
Free Parking in the city. Free flush toilets 24/7. Playground and grass field just around the corner. Drink water fountain available outside.
Shower only available until 4:30 pm ( and you have to buy 3$ tokens at the I-site)
They moved the campervan slots on the other side of the carpark ( probably after the crash explained in an other review)
We slept well and went to the central holidaypark for the second night.

Few tourist buses stopped there in the afternoon/morning.

Ok for a night.
Just a small parking spot. Flush clean toilets are few meter away and available almost all the night ( they was still open at 10pm but closed at midnight)
Woolworth few min on foot away.
The dirty rubbish containers near the campervan slots wasn't a good sight and we didn't felt really safe there ( still nothing happened and we leaved the next day at 10am). We was the only van there.
North Island ▷ Waikato ▷ Matamata ▷
Great toilets and parking.
Really quiet, felt safe.
We was the only one campervan there and we had a good night. 20(15)$ for (un)powered is fine. We arrived too late to do the museum.
North Island ▷ Hawkes Bay ▷ Napier ▷
Long gravel road to come there.
It was fun when we had to open/close gate with cows in front and around us. But it worked well.
The place by the river is nice, green and flat. We didn't used the shower but seems ok ( probably too cold in winter as the facilities are quite open). Flush toilets was fine.
It was only 50$ for 2 adults and 2 kids unpowered ( including the bush kitchen).
The pizza oven is great. Everything is there for the fire and taking care of the cooking. We also saw an owl in the trees kids loved it!
Some moskitos there but not a swarm, so repelent worked fine.
South Island ▷ Nelson Region ▷ Golden Bay ▷
Great farm with a lot of charm.
Only few nice green emplacements so it will never be overgrowded. Nice small facilities in typical farm style. We loved the fact that the owners gave much effort in the small ( funny) details.
Wifi is bad. We didn't checked if it was a laundry.
No playground but it was not expected ( in fact the whole farm was a great playground for the kids)
Nice walk to the beach, seeing some horses on the way.
We could pay for a horse riding hour for our 6y old in the morning and it was great.
Kids above 3 pay a full adult price for the night and under it 1/2 price. So we end paying 90$ for an unpowered site for 2 adults and 2 kids (6 and 2 year olds).
Quite expensive, like a top10, but with way more charm...
We will love to come back again.

Flush Toilets was ok. You have an area where you can wash your dishes.
Playground is 5 min away, where the salt swimming pool is.
Great location for a night

A parking near a sportfield, it do the job.
Big flush toilets. Small playground. A lot of cars turned around the carpark in the morning without a clear purpose, so we didn't felt really welcome. Still, we leaved at 10am and no one told us something.
