Great location close to Auckland. Can leave van here and take ferry into Auckland. Good space, good view and good facilities. Plenty of room but arrive before dark. Quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
Good free place! Toilets were clean and open all night. Dumping station but no drinking water.
Woke up to a beautiful view of the Auckland sky line.
Was completely full (about 10-15 spaces) when we arrived at around 7pm in winter!

This place is lovely. Nice clean toilet. Can go for a nice walk.
Nice parking lot. Gets fairly busy. There’s a designated site by the looks of it but a few people parked outside of it as well and doesn’t look like there were issues. Clean bathrooms

Really nice views and 24hr toilet - make sure you get there early to get a spot!

Sweet and quiet spot. It’s a designated area away from the rest of the car park, so no one who is in and out. We got there around 7pm and was nearly full, so make it an early stop. Toilets were good enough, and also a dumping station. Beautiful sunset to end our first day camping. Would recommend!
Ample parking lot by the water. Arrived at 5pm and got one of the two last spots. Clean toilets, rubbish bins and dump station. Perfect.
It is a very calm and nice place with a great view. You can walk to the „town center“ there are a few restaurants.
On the last pier close to the rocks and the parking you can find some Kingfish and around the other piers we saw a few sting rays!
As there seems to be some confusion as to where camping is allowed: It is the eastern end of the parking lot next to the water. The area is marked off by a (more or less visible) yellow line, so are the individual parking lots as opposed to white lines used in the rest of the car park.
Parking lots designated for camping may be used by day time visitors, too. If nothing is free when you arrive asking around if somebody does not intend to spend the night may secure a space when the day visitors are leaving.
Got there around 8pm, luckely squeezed into the last spot. Great harbourview. Had breakfast among the bunny's and seaguls. Definitely a place where many go (boating). Clean toilets. Drinkingwater. A good stay in between drives.
We directly came from Auckland Airport. Very nice place for first night.
You can see skyline of Auckland in the distance.
For a free camp site, more than you can expect. We had a good stay! Nothing to complain.
Arrived around 5.30pm and fortunately a few spaces left in designated areas, big lot with Loo’s the other end of car park. Quiet and lovely view over the ocean. Ideal for stopover from Bay of Islands (about 3 and half hours) going on to North Island. Get there by 5 - Recommend.
