Beautiful place to settle for a couple of days. Lots of fishers and sailors came over the weekend. Only annoyance was the late night arrivals of fishers parking up next to us talking loudly while we tried to sleep. Overall, I’d come here again
As advertised and explained although multiple campers / motorhomes here for more than 2 nights
And there is no open and closing time can come and go as you please
Beautiful place to park up. Sites right along the waterfront. Has a boat ramp and nice toilet block with dump station. Can catch a ferry to Auckland from here. Nice grassy area. Not a great place to swim and no showers but overall, a fantastic free spot.
(Feb 2022) Loads of spades available designated to campers. Noted a few people take up two spaces with their car and camper trailer when there is plenty of space to park in front or further down the car park. However noticed 10+ campers parked outside the lines with no issue. Clean 24 hour toilets 2 min walk. Great views and the end of a car park on the waterfront. Quite with no passing traffic.
The BEST place to watch the sunrise from your caravan/RV/car. The view is amazing, to your right is the dock and some grand cliffs, and to your left is Rangitoto and a full view of the Auckland CBD. It was so nice and clean and my friend and I (both females) felt very safe while staying there for 2 nights.
Lovely spot, small beach, grass areas & clean flushed toilets nearby, no showers.
Walked along the marina & saw huge fish. Can be windy & the boat ramp is noisy from 5am.
Great free spot.
Great spot to stay the night. Nice toilets. Unfortunately lit up by very powerful spotlights
Great location and very easy access
Perfect camp for a ferry visit to Auckland. Great views and feels safe for solo traveller
Nice large parking area right next to the marina. Great spot to stay for a night. Sat on the rocks just on our doorstep and fished for the afternoon along with most of the other campers. Clean toilets only a short walk away. Also a nice little takeaway shop in the Marina. Only downside was quite a bit of noise early in the morning due to the boat ramp. But would be happy to stay here again.
Great location, has tidy toilets also. Can get very windy if you are cooking outside.
Great view of Auckland city. Toilets nearby that are tidy. 20 “official” parks but didn’t see anyone monitoring this, we parked just beside the designated area for a little extra room.
Great to have an opportunity to wake up by the water and walk on the beach. Quite a few campervans however nice and quiet in Level One. Clean toilets and great boat ramp.
