A primo camping spot in some seriously prime real estate! Camp here for a small fee and be really close to town, this is a very popular place for people to stay at and you can see why when you arrive here.
Wanaka is a great place for pretty much anything, there is mountain biking just down the road that follows the banks of the Clutha River, heaps of walking - Mt Iron is a goody for a great view, and of course anything regarding watersports.

Huge open area, tons of spots available for camping and campervans. Fairly protected from the wind. Lots of toilets available however of the ones that were supposed to flush the majority did not work. Water supply is clean but not treated (not drinking water). $10pp per night.
Save up to 70% on campsite fees! Support conservation and experience the natural beauty of NZ. 75 Department of Conservation campsites, one convenient pass.
Great spot to stop on the way to or from Wanaka. Large place with plenty of room. Busy though, so toilets got pretty dirty. Lovely river view.

Perfect best cost place to stay near by Wanaka.
+ Calm nature campground
+ Planty of parking space
+ Clean (not threaded) water
+ Clean toalets and sinks
+ 4G Mobile signal coverage
+ Lot of hiking trails around
For that price and position there are no negatives.
NOTE: Don't forget to bring your 10NZD (a day) in cash. No EFTPOS payment possible.
Great in that it’s close to Wanaka, however, this place a very poor. At $10 a head it’s expensive for what you get, which is not a lot. There is no love here. Why the facilities are not of better quality remains unclear, but I’m guessing greed has something to do with it. I’ve camped in plenty of free places which had way better facilities than this!
Stayed here for one night in late February. Together with more than 100 other caravans, tents or motorhomes. Therefore very noisy - and expect noise from the main road too! Only 3 flush toilets for the whole campground, 2 sinks for doing dishes, water from the tap is available but you have to boil it before drinking. Overpriced.
Nice and quiet place, cheap and sheltered near Wanaka. If you wanna escape the crowds, go here. Frequent check ups on your payment, so be ware. Moreover, we had a good stay.
Big place With Clean toilets.
10NZ$ pp. realy cheapest for this quality site close to Wanaka.
Near to one big river. Perfect !
Thanks new Zealand for this place. We love you !
Great location by the river. Cheap for family of 4 to stay $27. Friendly ducks and rabbits.
Few minutes drive to Wanaka. Small shop and restaurant walking distance over bridge
Bit dusty in windy weather though. Toilets are a bit basic. Noisiest place we have stayed. Looked like quite a few younger travellers using it as base to go out in Wanaka the night we where there.
