Don’t waste your money staying on the Hawea side of this campground.

You’ll pay - then regret it later in the night. The entitled residents who have lived here for years have piled up their ‘stuff’ on the rivers edges everywhere so there’s very minimal access to the river unless you want to get barked at by agressive dogs or intimidated by territorial people. They own bass speakers and P.A systems and throw parties into all hours of the night several times a week. That’s before you even notice the resident drug suppliers. There’s a constant stream of weirdo’s attracted into this campground - usually by affiliation with the long—terms here (who for some reason are. still. here….)
