Good easy flat walk it doesn't take as long as the sign says, altho i'm sure i spent a lot of time just looking at the glacier.

Fab little van we rented the cheapa campa a toyota hi-ace hi-top 2/3 berth for 21 days.
Had no problems with the van it ran really well and the interior was in good nic. Comfortably enough space for the two of us.
The customer service on collection was fine and everything was explained to us clearly. I docked a point because they have a credit card surcharge on the bond. But because of exchange rate changing while we were away it didn't work out too bad for us and we got more money back than we paid. But i still think it is unfair, if you insist on someone paying by card you should absorb that cost.
I also docked a point for the customer service we received on drop off, they were extremely grumpy and a bit vague about when our bond would be returned to us. It took less than a week in the end. Which would be fine if they had just given us an indication.
Hi dollimyxture,
Thank you so much for your review on rankers.co.nz. It was great to hear you liked your Hitop and I hope you had a great trip through NZ.
I would love to know some more information about your drop off, as I apologise for the grumpy customer service when you dropped off. Are you able to send a quick email with some more information to info@apollocamper.com and say you spoke with Mia from Sales and Marketing and I will respond.
If you ever need a vehicle in Australia or the USA just let us know, as we are only too happy to assist.
Best wishes,
Mia - Sales and Marketing

Took the short tour as the factory was closed for the holidays.
Was interesting tour, the guide was great. I did get a picture taken in a cadbury's model t van.
A fun way to spend an hour or so on a rainy day.

Good park lots of facilities.
Very clean. Enjoyed staying here.

Great experience for all ages.
Lovely cruise across the lake. I enjoyed getting down into the cave and seeing what that was like. Tasting the water dripping from the ceiling was fun. The glow worm grotto was great even if i was squished into a tiny boat with some rather large people.
Overall very informative and well organised.

We only did the first part up to key summit but it was awesome!
This part of the track was a gradual easy climb and the views on the way up and at the top were spectacular.
Great stop off on the milford highway if you have time.
South Island ▷ Fiordland ▷ Milford Sound - Fiordland National Park ▷
Campervan site was pretty much a carpark.
I guess this might be because of the high rainfall.
Each powered site had a picnic table which i thought was nice until the people staying in the backpackers part used ours as their smoking area.
Toilets were the worst i'd seen during the trip. They hadn't been cleaned and it smelled soooo bad i think there might have been something wrong with their system. My other half said the guys were fine.

Really easy walk some great views

Gorgeous unspoilt beach with huge sand dunes.
We didn't see any wildlife other than a few birds but it was still amazing!

Milford sound is awesome.
The cruise was good, had a bit of a shower under a waterfall. The guide on the nature cruise was a bit disappointing. She didn't really have much crack. She did tell us a few things i guess she was having an off day.

Was an awesome walk along the valley.
We went on a day when it had rained heavy overnight and there were showers on and off all day, so parts of it were flooded out which made it a lot more challenging past the second bridge as the track turned into a stream. Lots of hopping from rock to rock even tho my shoes were waterproof.
Great view of the glacier and the icebergs on the lake were spectacular. We didn't see Mt Cook that day due to the cloud cover.
The track was still fairly busy and because of it being flooded and slippery people were moving cautiously. I'm never really bothered by that but i did get knocked by someone who clearly was.
If it has been raining make sure you have appropriate footwear. I saw one guy lose a flipflop.

A good park but very very busy.
Gave it a 9 rather than a 10 due to lack of space. Toilets scattered around here and there some interesting little design features throughout the site.
Great location Its a short walk to town which means you don't have to take the van in and struggle to find a park. Its right near a supermarket too.
Staff were friendly and very keen to help you book activities and help you make the most of you trip.
It was a bit expensive but i guess it was Queenstown in peak summer season.

Very family orientated site with a play area.
Facilities were very clean and plentiful. There was some building work going on which knocked the water supply off for a few hours right around tea time, which was a pain.
Is a fair walk from the main part of town but the lake and the doc office are right on your doorstep. Has easy access to some nice walks down by the lake and the kepler track is nearby.

Unimpressed by this site.
Really pricey considering its lack of facilities. What i mean by that is 3 showers and 3 toilets in the ladies is not enough for a large campsite that accommodates groups. I had to que behind 2 others to use a shower. The toilets weren't clean with bins overflowing and the tv room and kitchen had the weirdest unpleasant smell.
It is nice that the camp sites are in amongst trees and the night sky here on a clear night is amazing.
All you pay for here really is close proximity to mt cook which is still 20km away. I imagine its a great location when the sun is out but it wasn't when it rained.
Overall it was an ok campsite that charged too much just for its location.
Thank you very much for your review.
We are glad you enjoyed our campsite setting, amongst the native bush, and the clear night skies.
What a shame the weather was not very good while you were here, like you say Glentanner is a great spot - especially when the sun is out!
Sorry you were not happy with some of our facilities. Thank you very much for this feedback. We take all our reviews very seriously, and it really does surprise me to hear that the facilities were not clean. Cleanliness of our facilities is top on our list of priorities, and our feedback usually reflects this.
We hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in New Zealand.

Good holiday park.
Nicely organised. Friendly chatty staff. Found one toilet block was a lot nicer and cleaner than the other so just stuck to that one.
Make sure you take a map with it on to find it, I hadn't realised our map didn't, but they do give you one when you get there.
Nice location near a lovely sandy beach where we saw a sea lion in the surf. Great base for exploring the city and the peninsula.
Thank you very much for your lovely comments, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.
South Island ▷ Wanaka Region ▷ Wanaka Township ▷
great location overlooking the lake.
We had a powered site with an awesome view. Bit of a trek to the toilets. They could have done with another toilet block given the size and popularity of the site.
The showers and toilets were dated but clean. There were only 3 showers in the ladies i think they need to look at getting more put in.
It isn't that near town but they do tell you that on their website. Its just a short drive away or you can walk along the lakeshore which is nice.
South Island ▷ Nelson Region ▷ Nelson ▷
Nice site, clean facilities.
Location is great with a short walk to the beach. There were low flying planes but we didn't notice them too much.
They missed out on a 10 from us because they put us on a site right in front of the dumping station even tho there were plenty of other sites they could have put us on.
South Island ▷ Kaikoura Region ▷ Kaikoura ▷
Lovely holiday park with great facilities.
Pool is a massive plus. But also the showers and toilets we really nice and very clean. Best toilet blocks we saw in our whole 3 week trip. Staff were friendly and gave good advice about activities round and about.
Location is good, its easy to find as its just off the highway, don't let that put you off tho as once you're on the campsite its really quiet and you'd never know the road was there.
They were the only campsite we stayed at that sent us a little courtesy email after we left to wish us well- nice touch.
Thanks for your feedback! We really appreciate the time you took to pass on your experience for others... I know it's a while since you stayed, but I am a new staff member (well, relatively new - have been here almost one year) and now I'm beginning to take more interest in what people say about us, and which of our facilities are the ones which affect your stay :)
As you note - we are easy to find, being central and having our reception office on the main road - and then having the main part of the park only 50m down and away from the road in the quiet rural setting with our classic mountain view, is, well, perfect :-)

Great little site.
Very clean, friendly and had a homely feel.
There were plenty of views i dunno what that guy's talking bout. The park is on a slight hill so the further you go up the more likely the view the bay and obviously you get a better view on one side of the park that overlooks the bay.You choose your own site. We parked right in the middle and i felt we had 360 views. The hills around that area are spectacular.
We had a great time!

Good location.
Clean. Would have ranked higher if you didn't have to pay for shower. When you pay for a park with facilities i expect a shower to be included in that price.

Excellent the best thing we did on out 3 week tour of the south island.
Did the 8.00am nature cruise was well worth the early start! The scenery is fantastic. There were dolphins jumping in the wake of the boat, the walk on the bird sanctuary island was lovely. We saw blue penguins in their nesting boxes, so cute. They gave us an info sheet with a list of the birds you could spot, which was fun. One cheeky little bird even landed on another tourists head!
The stop at ships cove was nice but not quite long enough as there was a line for the ladies. The cruise back was on the mail boat which was fab. The skipper had a good commentary which was a good mix of being informative and a bit of banter!
The trip was billed as being 3hrs but we didn't get back til between 1 - 1.30pm which suited us just fine! Great value for money, the staff really make every effort to give guests a great experience.
This boat trip made me fall in love with the sounds and I hope to return to do the queen charlotte track soon!!!

Facilities were great very clean even had music piped into the showers.
Would have given a 10 but it was really cramped lots of campers squeezed in together. Made for some disgruntled neighbours who assumed because we were under 30 we would be noisy (we weren't).
