  • Beautiful camp, plenty of clean ammenities and facilities, big sites huge camp that stretches along the lake front with most of them facing the lake.

Plenty of opportunity for a beautiful stay.

Close into town, perfect for Roy’s Peak and nearby exploring.

Really well priced for how nice it is, great team on site too

  • Loved this place.

Beautiful location, fantastic amenities and very friendly staff/owners. Perfect spot to stay if you plan on hiking Roy’s Peak! Hot showers and nice toilets and an awesome kitchen with everything you need. Huge site with both caravan sites and various cabins. Fantastic value for money we thought.

  • Reasonably priced for the amenities, bathrooms were IMPECCABLE.

Only downside was being close to other campers even though the site was half empty and paying 1$ for 6 minutes hot shower.

Would recommend after the leg burning Roys Peak hike.

  • Loved this spot!

Visited on a Sunday night and tons of space available, got one right on the beach. Toilet block was near us, and a short walk to the clean bathroom/kitchen/lounge area. It’s also right across the street from Bike Glendhu which is AMAZING if you’re a mtn biker and they also have a great cafe on site (coffees and also beers/nachos/pizzas) with a great outdoor hang out zone for adults and kids.

  • Came all the way from Germany and was very disappointed from this campsite.

Owner just wants to make money. Felt like staying in the middle of a million people. I would not call this camping. Lots of noise from heavy vehicles and boats. Definitely not recommended.

  • Awful.

Great location but campsite and facilities are poor, in fact the worst we encountered on our three week trip around the South Island. Not cheap at 20 dollars each then having to pay for a shower. Worst thing however was there was private party being held in the middle of the site which went on until well after midnight. Really loud bands and dj could be heard right across the vast site. Fortunately we were quite a way off but would have been awful for any campers wanting an early night close by. Overall my worst camping experience in over 40 years

  • Beautiful spot right on the lake.

Good facilities and friendly staff. We arrived halfway through Waitangi weekend and managed to get an unpowered site on the lakefront. It was packed but a good family vibe. Completely different a couple days later when everyone packed up and the camp emptied out - it was quiet and serene.

Only minor gripe - our site was a hundred metres from a busy boat ramp, and the days were filled with the sound of motors, including people waterskiing off the beach in what was supposed to be a 5 knot swimming zone. Would be an ideal place if you had a boat but something to keep in mind if you're wanting a bit more peace and quiet.

  • Not a low cost campground.

$20 per night per person for unpowered site and $22 per night per person for powered site. Have a pay $1 per 6 minute shower.

It’s a beautiful campground on the lake but it’s 1.3kms long and kitchen/showers are in the middle, so it’s an awful long trip to use them if you are at one of the ends of the campground. Luckily toilets are spread throughout.
