5.0/5
My favorite campground in New Zealand.
It's clean, has got spacious sites for campervans, motorhomes and caravans. Free wifi, showers 0.50$.
Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Bring your own pots and kitchen utensils, as there are none in the kitchen.
The beach is stunning. I came for one night and ended up staying six. Could be busy at weekends and will be packed in holidays but quiet at night nonetheless.
23,50 $ ppn powered site.

Awesome place, very good vibes, two powered sites and plenty unpowered ones (15$ ppn).
In the middle of the forest. Great night walk (10$ pp), very quiet. You can hear kiwi calls at night, see kauri snails and wetas. Cafe and swimming hole in the river close by. Cafe offers free wifi.
Facilities are a bit older and very basic but clean. Lovely place!
North Island ▷ Auckland Region ▷ Auckland ▷
3.5/5
A place to stay if you want to go to Auckland Airport.
No charme at all. 30 $ ppn powered sites - totally overpriced! Wifi didn't work properly. Showers unlimited and free.

Quiet place, clean facilities, 20 $ ppn powered sites.
Showers 1 $ token operated. The owner is very friendly.

Nice spot to stay for a night or two.

For my taste too few places to sit indoors in case of rain.

Small campsite for a night before dropping off the campervan in Auckland.
It's quiet at night, though on daytimes there are trains and trucks around. Facilities a bit out of date, but very clean. Free hot showers. No wifi, 15 $ ppn powered sites.
It really was all right.

4.0/5
Nice quiet place, a backpacker's with campground, no powered sites.
The owners are very kind.
Kitchen and other facilities old but clean, men and women have to share the same bathroom.
It really has the charme of the 60s.
North Island ▷ Bay of Plenty ▷ Waihi ▷
4.5/5
Nice spot, clean facilities, owners are very kind.
25 $ ppn powered sites, free unlimited showers. Free access to Hot Pools. No minerals in the water, just 35 degrees warm and a heated pool of 39 degrees. Lots of birds around.
Great! Thanks for the kind words and nice to know you enjoyed your stay with us. There are minerals in the pools but the water is not highly mineralised so no smell or tarnishing of jewellery. Rates to stay are even less from tomorrow and we do specials in winter too. Thanks again for the comments.

North Island ▷ Waikato ▷ Raglan ▷
4.0/5
Went to Raglan for ANZAC Day, it still had campsites vacant, what I really appreciate, because I'm not the type to book in advance.
I just show up. Lots of resident campers, clean facilities and the town close by. No privacy on the sites. They've got security running at night to make sure, it's quiet. Friendly staff.
North Island ▷ Tairāwhiti Gisborne ▷ Gisborne ▷
4.5/5
If you want to stay in Gisborne for a night or two, I recommend this place.
It's very close to CBD, farmer's market (on Saturdays) and some good walks around the town. Beachfront. The facilities are not new, but clean, and there 's a lot of space for the kids to play. The campsites for campervans and the lot are not so big, your neighbors will be close to you. Free wifi (500 mb pd), free showers and 23 $ pp on a powered site.
You can hear the trucks and some noise from the harbour but it'll slow down at night. Had a good sleep here, nothing to complain. Staff very friendly.
North Island ▷ Ruapehu ▷ Tongariro / National Park Village ▷
4.5/5
Very good place to stay if you want to walk the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - 23 $ pp for a powered site in this place absolutely okay.
Clean facilities, very hot showers (so good after the walk!), laundry 4$, dryer just 1$ (and the laundry was dry!). Shuttle to the Crossing just outside the reception.
North Island ▷ Manawatu - Wanganui ▷ Whanganui ▷
4.5/5
This place is so good, I ended up staying for three nights.
Everything is clean and well maintained, except the stoves. Only half of the plates are working... the owner seemed surprised... Finaly I managed to cook my meal.
It's 20 $pp for a powered site, much space for everyone, showers 1$, 3 $ for laundry.
Close to the beautiful beach.
1 GB free Wifi a day, very fast one.

This place is so stunning!
It has such a wonderful atmosphere, I was so relaxed after three nights. Very quiet, good coffee and homemade cakes (try the spicy chilly-brownies, they're yummy!). No powered sites and just two showers, but doesn't matter at this very special place. Loved it!
Thank you-we loved having you here, glad you enjoyed your stay! All the best with the rest of your travels in NZ :) Future guests, please note there is no need to make a booking with us, we have plenty of space and would love to have you here. Just come and make yourselves at home!

South Island ▷ Kaikoura Region ▷ Kaikoura ▷
4.5/5
Stayed here just for one night.
It's close to Kaikoura, a good place to be. The beachfront place I got was great. You can watch the sea and have a walk on the beach. The traffic-noise from the highway slows down at night, and the planes don't fly during night time. The only annoying things here are the showers: just two each for men and women in a block are not enough sometimes. There'll be a queue. And uncomfortable with a button to press for on and off, placed outside of the shower cabin...

I rented a campervan for three months and it was a good choice.
The campervan was old and a bit dented, but it was doing it's job very well. I was on my own and had enough space, with two people, you probably need to be very cuddly (2 x 60 cm bed ). I never had a breakdown and was be able to drive almost everywhere. Really good fee, too. Highly recommended.

My favorite campground!
Facilities very clean, plenty of space, full equipped kitchen. Wonderful view of the river from the launch. Waterhole in the river to swim ... and quiet.
It's busy down at the river, you stand close by the next campervan but it doesn't matter. The owner is so very friendly and helpful. It was a pleaseant stay.
South Island ▷ West Coast ▷ Haast ▷
4.0/5
This place is a good spot to stop between Wanaka and the Westcoast.
It's not romantic but functional. Nothing wrong with it. It's been 21 $ for a powered site and one person. Facilities very clean, showers don't cost extra (5 min for free).
South Island ▷ Marlborough ▷ Picton / Marlborough Sounds ▷
