We arrived in darkness so couldn’t get a good first impression but no other campers were there and there’s no reception so felt a little eerie but decided to stay cause there was good previous reviews. We didn’t face the toilets as we arrived and the doors were wide open due to no door handles and after further inspection in the morning we’re glad we used our own. Would recommend to use this site if you’re desperate, was super quiet and no noise through the night though.
A decent spot for a free camp stop. Toilets good. Quiet. Plenty of room. Good food at the cafe.
Great freedom spot, South Westland Salmon Cafe do fantastic food and have gift souvenir goodies and provide free Wifi onsite. They are totally accommodating such as, making a fresh batch of gluten free scones for my mum while we waited.
Definitely take time to check this out.
Nice peaceful spot , just off main road , by salmon farm , toilets were locked friendly staff opened for us but warned were locked since pre covid so a little rough , but generally a great overnight spot down the coast
Good for one night. We were the only ones there. Toilets were closed. Just make sure to park at the end at the campervan designated area.
Lost my Folding Solar Panel + Powerbank there. If someone finds it Pls contact me (+64 272583743)
Would be so good to have it back :/
A line of cars... Full at 6 p.m. Toilet not clean... We just passed by... No place we would have liked to stay...
We stopped there on the way to Fox Glacier. Close to the road but not very noisy. Good view (pasture with cows and mountains in background).
Flushing toilets were closed, other toilets were okay, but no toilet paper. All kind of bins for waste there.
Cold in the morning because there was no sun.
Close to a salmon farm where you can buy not just salmon but souvenirs and some food stuff.
Good place overall, surprisingly clean toilets for a free campervan spot! Fairly protected from the wind. Nice view over a creek and farm land with cows. Unfortunately somehow we got a rat or mouse in our car while at this location.
