overnight parking now only small area, the rest is daytime parking only we stayed in the overnight parking and saw that there where a couple of freedom campers staying in the daytime park overnight, the guy who checks it out with the orange light in his car window just drove in stopped by them and drove off these campers where parking in a daytime park overnight, why not move them on otherwise whats the use in having the parking signs there apart from that a great spot to stay.
Good place to stop for a night. Clean toilet. Our neighbours were noisy, as were the local youths, some of whom were on quad bikes. No issues though and a reasonable view.
Great spot, close to the city and lovely views. Nice bath and cold shower only.
Jan 2021, awfully windy, almost impossible to cook outside the Campervan.
No sandflies with wind. Recommended specially if theres no wind.
Beachfront, spacious area, clean toilets open all night. Small walk nearby.
Beautiful wee spot. Peaceful. Toleits were clean. But run put of loo paper quick. Lucky we brought our own. Other than the young boys on scooters tearing up the grass was great.
A wonderful freedom camp site right on the beach front with big, clean toilets and even an outdoor cold shower. It's a large car park with one side facing the beach, so arrive early to get the best spots. Also close to the lagoon which had a lovely walk.
Just as others have described. We’ve been here twice - July & Sept 2020 - choosing to return says it all and that was through a period of westerly gales and rain. Impressed that Greymouth provides such good service for freedom campers - check out the other freedom sites in the area.
Lovely campsite with clean facilities. The view is amazing!
Great spot to stop on your West Coast travels.
Clean Public toilets, beach walk, close to speedway park if that rocks your boat.

Arrived around 4.45pm with only two other campers there. Amazing views of the Westcoast and Tama Nui te Rā setting in the west.
Windy, as expected.
Did not use the facilities. Great experience. Really enjoying freedom camping in Aotearoa.
Great location | bathrooms cleaned daily | quiet surroundings | security came by at night
Great site, yes it is a parking site but lined with grass so you can park on hard ground and put up tables etc on grass. Nice toilet and a cold outdoor shower. Came at 7 pm in march and still some places left
Large space for multiple people, great views come early to get a spot right on the beach. Clean bathrooms, cold showers and water. Even with how many people it held it was a quite and respectful place. Bring your own surf board for this one.
