Playground right next to car parks, bathrooms are clean and flushable, skate park on-site, trains accessible to look at.
Right in the centre of town so carpark does get busy and bathrooms are frequently used.

A little far out, in terms of christchurch there is nothing around, frogs at night birds in the morning lots of space bathrooms are flush and have a sensor light but doors are freaky.
Very quiet and dark. Stars were insane.

Extremely windy feels like the van was rocking us to sleep or was going to take flight.
Bathrooms were really nice, cleaned daily and have a light and are flush. Get to campsite at 4pm and watch the sunset it was the PRETTIEST SUNSET EVERRR. Lots of parking spots. Lots of people was nice.

Bathrooms are long drop but very clean considering, lots of space, very quiet, has picnic tables.
Signposting is a little confusing, it says no extended freedom camping.

Park next to the bathrooms, right next to a playground, fairly quiet road, the first campsite is taken up by machinery, bathrooms are flush with a mirror very clean, not too many people in the area so
very peaceful.

Bathroom was a long drop but clean, lots of space, but some areas were muddy, very isolated but peaceful area, morning view was amazing.
South Island ▷ Fiordland ▷ Te Anau ▷
Lots of space, outside tables covered, long drop toilets weren’t too bad, pretty birds, can get quite windy, overall beautiful place to wake up in.
However there is no service. Quite expensive however if you are heading to milford sound in the morning for the cruise it is a quick 50 minute drive.
South Island ▷ West Coast ▷ Fox Glacier ▷
Bathrooms were nice they are communal but have showers, lots of amenities, spa, trampoline, dining room etc.
Payed $42 for a site unpowered. View of mountains. But diesel is expensive, worth the price to pay compared to other sites on the west coast below this site.

Carpark had enough spaces even late at night, right next to a holiday park paid if needed.
However, we did walk in to town for a public bathroom 7 min walk, no water on-site. Just a standard carpark. It was quiet though so okay stay.

Toilets were very good clean and flushable, outdoor shower, potable water, coffee cart was outside in the morning.
Quite a small carpark but very cosy. Right next to the road and the beach. Very good would go again.
South Island ▷ Southland ▷ Balclutha ▷
Bathroom doors don’t shut or lock properly, overall a quite spot, beach was close but do not recommend swimming.
Drive to the site is a long gravel road, in and out.
South Island ▷ Mount Cook - MacKenzie ▷ Lake Tekapo ▷
One toilet on-site, lots of parking, some snow depending on what time you visit.
Overall a very pretty campsite, 5 or so minutes from Lake Tekapo. Great site if you want to watch the sunset at Lake Tekapo. Little muddy, toilet was a long drop and we did see wild cats but they were quite cute so it’s okay.

Bathroom was really nice, there are two bathrooms on-site but make sure to go to the ones by the courts.
Right next to the water, great for fish and chips dinner . Very close to the main town, make sure to go to the saturday morning markets. Quite a small carpark, bit of a walk to the bathrooms but overall great.
