If you are in a vehicle then you are welcome here. Please make sure you adhere to the area permitted which is shown on the maps onsite and with signage.
Departure by 8am.

There are limited spaces for certified self-contained vehicles and those with non-certified self-contained vehicles. There is no camping allowed at Ocean View.
Vehicle noise and lights can disrupt sleep, so please show consideration to local residents and other campers by arriving at the site before 10pm. Please also respect our environment by using the rubbish and toilet facilities provided.

Ocean view has 10 spaces for any vechice except caravans there's a sink behind the 2 toilets .A Council ranger was here checking number plates so you will be fined if outside of over night parking
area. Nice 2 minutes walk to beach .Some traffic noise and people turning up late thinking they can get a park anytime

Only 11 spaces all taken 2 days I was there people parked outside area and left early to avoid a fine .Some noise from road traffic but you can hear ocean waves Nice beach and go right for beach hike
to rock formations. There a cold shower and sink and 3 toilets to use one of my new places to stay in NZ as close to Dunedin city

A great place to spend a sunny beach day! Also, shower and clean toilets!

Gorgeous spot.
Fills up quick! Toilets were fine... clean enough, flushing (and the portaloo was a-ok too) cold showers, clean drinking water (although we questioned the water and threw ours as it tasted a bit green)
Sun rise and sun sets on the deserted beach here. 10/10 for a free spot

A great spot to stay overnight!
Lovely beach for a stroll and close enough to town and Lanarch Castle. Toilets cleaned daily and other campers were considerate.

For a free parking, it’s really nice.
Especially to sleep under the stars. They have one public toilet, but I didn’t use it. There was no noise from the street, no homeless people or noise from the bar - contrary to what people had written in the comments. I recommend this.

Two alright toilets and portaloo which no one seemed to use so it was very clean (top tip).
Has an outdoor sink, drinking water and a dump station so awesome spot. Safe and quiet next to the beach!

Only 11 spots, completely full by the time we arrived.
Watched two vans pull in just before us they didn't get a spot either. Contrary to previous reviews I didn't see anything regarding a certain number of spots for non-self contained or self contained. Beach is right there and looked nice, didn't check out the toilets.

Only downside of this location is the fact that you have to be here early.
By the time it was 17.00 , we saw one campervan after the other that had no more place. And this was pre season very early november.Only approximately 11 places. Have not tried the restrooms.

We’re non-self contained so pretty happy with the spot.
Make sure to arrive early because it fills up fast.

Only 5 spots for non self contained vehicles and alot of self contained vans were parked in those spots which is frustrating because theres so many spots everywhere for them and never for people with smaller
cars..there was a bunch of open spots for them just in front so no need to take spots away from people in cars.. otherwise it was a great spot on the beach eith drinking water, a sink for dishes and a toilet.. friendly locals... there was a sea lion walking around the parking lot so be careful not to approach and get to close...

Looks great but very small.
We arrived at 5:30pm and it was already full - only 5 spots for each category!

You need to ignore some door smashing but it's for free and you are directly to the beach👍👍

Beautiful place 20mins from the city.
Drinkable water, decent toilet and dump station. Would be perfect with showers (or power).

Stayed at the other site just down the road, but this was a regular stop to empty and refill.
Great beach too! Love this area and big thumbs up for providing 2 great sites to stay.
