We left Taupo to sail to the rock carvings on an extremely windy day. As a result, we encountered huge waves on the lake. Standing on the front bow taking on 10ft waves was amazing. Every inch of me was drenched.

Sailing ship and captain were amazing, good fun, carvings are alright but not as good as I expected them to be - they are not too old!
Stunning sailing tour on Lake Taupo with cookies, tea and hot chocolate, Maori Carvings too.
Captain Dave was incredible, great laid back atmosphere on the boat with tonnes of knowledge to share!

Sailing around Lake Taupo, even with strong winds I felt really safe. Maori carvings were beautiful! Crew was really friendly. We could play our own music on the boat's stereo.
