Murchison Motorhome Park
Murchison Motorhome Park welcomes national and international guests, mix and mingle and chat about your days travel and your future travel plans, or just sit back & relax. It's your holiday!
Murchison Motorhome Park is the newest park in the area, purpose- built and designed with the traveller in mind. The site borders the Buller River and has a stunning vista in all directions. We cater for motorhomes, caravans and tents, and customers are encouraged to pick their own sites - there is plenty of room to spread out! We have 5 fully furnished private cabins available, linen and towels supplied.
Our site includes:
- free WiFi internet connection
- purpose built, modern amenities building
- kitchen-lounge with log fire
- enclosed verandah with casual seating
- free showers
- free BBQ
- laundry and clothesline
- fresh organic vegetables (in season) and free-range eggs available
Pets are welcome if staying in your tent caravan or camper. Not in our cabins.
We have a walking/biking track along the river bank for your daily exercise, and the choice of 4 swimming places., and 1 specifically for dogs!

An excellent spot.
Karen (owner but could have spelt wrong) was very kind and knowledgeable. Has 2 different swimming holes with a lot of fishing spots within a 15min drive or even walk. Everything was clean and tidy, would stay again.

One of the best parks I stayed at.
Lovely staff, fresh veggies from their garden, eggs, a cat as employer of the year, nearby walks and swimming in the river, clean facilities, well equipped kitchen, good free WiFi and that for just 24$ (1 person, unpowered site).

Great site for camper vans, lots of space with nice views over the surrounding mountains.
Very clean, recent and practical equipment, free 7-min hot shower. Awesome bathing site at the Buller river with a nice beach with sand and rocks in clear waters, we had lots of fun. Very calm at night. You can also buy some fresh veggies grown by the owner. The only downside is there were lots of loudly buzzing bumblebees everywhere, but completely harmless (and very few sand flies, like everywhere). Definitely recommend!

By far the cleanest facilities and the cosiest commonroom/kitchen we have had so far. The staff is lovely - this is a real gem.

Amazing facilities, beautiful location, great price...
hard to fault... and you can't fault the motorhome park for nature's problems. Sand flies are annoying, luckily the amazing facilities are protected by fly screens and our camper is also, so just move inside when they become to annoying. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Fantastic campsite, very worthy of all the 10 star reviews.
Multiple swimming areas along the river accessible from the campsite, well kept grounds, nice clean bathrooms/communal areas and free hot showers. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, definitely our favorite campsite so far in NZ. Lovely small town 8km down the road for supplies, the campsite even sells ice cream and ice. If you're looking at staying here you won't be disappointed!

Super lovely.
Almost everyone decides to extend their stay! Sparkling clean, bathroom cute colors, music in the bathroom for a relaxing and free hot shower. Excellent wifi. A couch in the common area would be a nice addition, but that's the only note as this place was lovely

This was the best Park we stayed in on North or South Island.
Location is stunning and staff and facilities top notch. It’s not in town (which is why it’s so nice) but only a short drive away you can find really good dinner and a phenomenal breakfast (try the banana and bacon pancake stack) at the Rivers Cafe.

Lovely campsite that’s 1 minute from the Buller river.
Modern facilities and real log fire in rest area. Lovely lady checked us in and gave a guided tour. We were the first guests of the season for them 😃

What a little gem!
The site was immaculate- lovely trees and grounds. The showers and kitchen were spotless and there was a fab screen that let the sun in and the sandflies out! Oh and a wonderful veranda with coloured loungers. The host was very friendly and helpful and excess produce from the garden was put in the kitchen for campers use.

Great surprise!
Awesome camp, lots of space, absolutely immaculate, well presented and very spacious facilities. The river runs along the back of the camp. It’s crystal clear and tracks have been made to two glorious swimming holes. The river temperature was 22 degrees on my visit. I went in at 10pm before bed. Fabulous!!!!

I am a solo traveller and I love this place, mostly other solos and couples all chatting in the kitchen in the evening (always great cruisie music playing) and swimming in one of the amazing swimming holes
. Karen, the host is always friendly and the cleanliness of the place is to her credit. As for the bugs, they are around from Nelson Lakes to Milford Sound, that's the South Island for you. The screened in area of the kitchen keeps the bugs out (and Karen sells a great repellant which does the trick).
