  • A really beautiful spot!

The mountain view and sunsets were spectacular. Quiet and peaceful. Tons of room for non-powered spots with lots of trees for shade so you’re not cooked out of your car in the AM. Solo travelling female and felt safe the whole time. Would absolutely stay again.

  • Great place to stay.

Quaint and interesting site. Loads of space to park up even when busy and able to get a good scenic site. Decent cooking area and nice space for sitting down to eat inside and out. Mens showers and toilet were great, very clean and spacious with a hot shower (womens showers weren't as clean or spacious). Very short walk over to the lakeside. Would definitely stay again

  • Great camping spot.

We had non-powered site, bathrooms were clean, there was nice common room and kitchen, hot showers also available. Stayed for two nights in the end.

  • Facilities a bit 'run down' (eg none of rings on cooker fully functioned).

$25 for one person in a van unpowered, $32 powered.

  • I loved my stay here!

Such a cosy vibe, lovely staff and good and clean facilities. Also just a 10min walk from the doubtful sound cruise departure and doable distance from milford sound.

  • Our favourite campsite in New Zealand!

It's super cosy, it's clean, it's pretty, it's quiet, it's close to the lake, it's got everything you need, we *loved* everything about it. Also, beautiful night sky!!

  • Nostalgie, Nostalgie!

Sehr schöner Platz, 5 Minuten vom Strand entfernt. Besitzer sehr hilfsbereit. Für die Sauberkeit wird alles getan und sind wir doch mal ehrlich: wir können einen Großteil dazu beitragen. Leider ist das bei manchen noch nicht angekommen!

  • We had a good stay here at the campground.

Reasonably pricing (45/50$ per night) for a powered site. 20gb wifi included. Laundry and dryer available. The facilities have the charme of the good old days, but the owners have changed only recently and the new ones are full of energy and try to improve things day by day.

  • Its simple.

Fork out a few extra dollars and sleep somewhere decent in Te Anau. This place is a dump. Dirtiest place i have ever been. Everything is super old. I get it they have the vintage theme but everything is very old outdated and dirty. Toilets and showers seem to be cleaned once every 15 days. Disgusting.

  • Beautiful campsite, definitly one of the most beautiful ones I stayed at during my trip through this country.

22$ unpowered for 1 adult. Free showers, clean facilities. Wifi around 2GB, free and fairly decent. Heaps of spaces, lots of shadow with lots of trees and an amazing look on the sound. 2min drive from the Doubtful Sound cruises, which I highly recommend!

All in all felt really safe, would stay again immediately!

  • The wrong side of tacky.

Rusting, rotting junk everywhere. You will hear nothing but the sound of campervan doors heaving shut for a full hour after a truly spectacular sunset view.

Bafflingly, the cleaning crew comes through and does the kitchen and shower facilities at 7:30 AM. Because who wants to cook or shower at a campground first thing after sunrise?

  • Very big campground, cozy and a little bit dated.

Unpowered site for 1 person 21,-

Laundry, fully equipped kitchen, hot showers (you have to activate the hot water before entering the shower and it lasts for 7 min, included in the price) only 3 showers but did not have to wait. WiFi does only work next to the office, limited to 400mb

  • Ended up here after Possum’s didn’t have any vacancies left (hung a paper on the porch that sad “Don’t come in and ask!”).

Loads of space for your tent, terrain is beautiful with many oldtimers, trees and plenty of picknick tables. Had a beautiful spot with views of the mountains out of our tent. Didn’t hear the road too much. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Showers are free and work, kitchen is a bit dirty and outdated.

This was the first night in ages I wasn’t attacked by sandflies! :) The beach with a great view on the mountains is within a 5 min walk, nice cafe closeby.

In conclusion, it isn’t a top10 campground, but it is a place with character with plenty of privacy and a beautiful environment.

Payed $42 for one night 2 adults non-powered
