Welcome to New Zealand's most comprehensive database of freely available camping information. This is the only travel map of its kind in NZ.
A boutique style holiday park centrally located in the Marlborough Sounds.
Smiths Farm was developed in 1997 by Chris and Barbara Faulls. Situated on Barbara's family farm, guests can relax and soak up the sights and sounds of paradise or opt to explore the wonderful local area.
Wander through the farm to the bush walk that leads you to a big waterfall. Try our night time adventure and visit the glow worms in their magical dell. Feed the pet animals and just enjoy being in the country in a unique part of NZ.
Just 3km away at Anakiwa is the start of the Queen Charlotte Track. Talk to Chris and Barbara about options for walking, mountain biking or kayaking on the Queen Charlotte Track or in the Queen Charlotte Sound itself.
Take a mail boat cruise, hop on a scenic cruise or a mussel cruise or pilot your own boat at your leisure.
The Waikakaho Walkway is also just a few kilometres away and you can explore the old goldmining area of Cullensville.
If that doesn't take your fancy, then drive the 40minutes to Blenheim and either self drive around the many vineyards and attractions or hop onboard a guided tour. Sample some of the amazing fresh food at the many excellent restaurants and cafes or visit the Saturday artisan's market or the Farmers market on Sunday.

We had an early morning ferry to catch in Picton.
This camping ground is less than an hour's drive away from the ferry terminal so, for us, was a convenient stop.
We were welcomed with fresh muffins and overfed farm animals. Turned out to be a relaxing environment. We had a small cabin with access to the shared facilities. Everything was clean and well thought out.
The only issue was that the cabin had no ventilation unless a door or window was opened. And these had no insect screens. Otherwise a great accommodation.

Lovely, peaceful spot and great facilities.
I was given a very nice warm muffin on arrival and food to feed the sheep, goat and pigs. There is also a very friendly hen wandering around. Very clean and the staff, Chris and Barbara are lovely to deal with. Barbara deduced that I was a gardener and brought me over a vase of flowers from her garden - a wonderful gesture and very much appreciated. I have very much enjoyed my stay and met very pleasant travellers from the US, France and Germany. Thank you, Chris and Barbara for a wonderful start to my trip.

We have already been to many campsites in New Zealand, this one is definitely one of the best, and a stay here is highly recommended!
The place is particularly suitable for families, there are some animals that you can feed, you get some food when you check-in (apart from the delicious muffins). Barbara and Chris are very warm hosts, always available if you have a question or concern. It's their hospitality that makes the place special. The facilities are clean and ever works as it should. Apart from the animals there is a small playground. The campsite is very conveniently located for cycling tours or simply for a stop between Picton and Nelson. We've already been here twice and will definitely come back!

Just confirming what other people said about this great campsite and the owners.
In addition:
+ Do not miss the waterfall and the worms. For somebody who hadn't witnessed this before, it was an unforgettable experience.
+ On my own in July
/!\ the owners took the pain to carefully mark the path with reflectant material, and even to equippe parts with a rope, but obviously don't expect the classic DOC gravel/board trail! Hiking shoes quite important if wet and a torch light absolutely essential
- The road is quite close (but not much traffic)

I went here due to the road up to Mistletoe Bay being shut down due to severe damage.
Glad I did! The folks running the place were so friendly and helpful. Facilities super clean and plenty of toilets and shower. The glow worm hike was incredibly cool and I was happy to make some friends while wandering around in the dark forest (definitely a better experience with some company). Highly recommend.

Wish we’d stayed longer!
Came here for one night as convenient for the ferry. But we loved the location and the camp site. Good, clean facilities. Make sure you feed the animals (don’t turn your back on the goat!) And take the waterfall walk… you’ll need good boots, persevere with the trail as you can get right under the falls. And time it right so you see the glow worms on the walk back. Terrific.

FLAWLESS.
We stayed one night in an RV and would have loved to have stayed on. Got a warm welcome and warm muffins, along with animal feed for the sheep and goat.
Toilets / shower: so clean and secure. Holiday park standard and they withstood a visiting school.
Laundry: clothes came out great.
I recommend the walk to the waterfall in your hiking boots. It will be a bit slippery if wet and there’s a rope to help you uphill on the final stretch but I managed it as a complete beginner.
This was a real highlight on our road trip of the north and south. A cosy but spacious site that offers up the beauty of this land.

Decilious home made sweets are offered to every guests and the owners are providing food for feeding the animals which is a very funny and adorable experience! Their is a private walk from the campsite which gives access to gloworms.
The facilities are very cosy, pretty and clean. There is also a fire place in the living room which was perfect for a winter stay. This place was so enjoyable I decided to extend my stay.
