Information

A boutique style holiday park centrally located in the Marlborough Sounds.

Smiths Farm was developed in 1997 by Chris and Barbara Faulls. Situated on Barbara's family farm, guests can relax and soak up the sights and sounds of paradise or opt to explore the wonderful local area.

Wander through the farm to the bush walk that leads you to a big waterfall. Try our night time adventure and visit the glow worms in their magical dell. Feed the pet animals and just enjoy being in the country in a unique part of NZ.

Just 3km away at Anakiwa is the start of the Queen Charlotte Track. Talk to Chris and Barbara about options for walking, mountain biking or kayaking on the Queen Charlotte Track or in the Queen Charlotte Sound itself.

Take a mail boat cruise, hop on a scenic cruise or a mussel cruise or pilot your own boat at your leisure.

The Waikakaho Walkway is also just a few kilometres away and you can explore the old goldmining area of Cullensville.

If that doesn't take your fancy, then drive the 40minutes to Blenheim and either self drive around the many vineyards and attractions or hop onboard a guided tour. Sample some of the amazing fresh food at the many excellent restaurants and cafes or visit the Saturday artisan's market or the Farmers market on Sunday.

Perfect spot on the way to Abel Tasman. Excellent and clean facilities, very friendly and helpful owner and we even got some welcome muffins upon our arrival! A nice little walk to a waterfall and to see the glowworms just behind your tent and lots of friendly animals around. Would definitely recommend!

This is a very pleasant family run campsite which is very convenient for Picton and the ferry. Home cooked muffins greet you and a bag of animal feed for the sheep and goats. There’s a walk up to a waterfall through glow worms which we didn’t do since the weather was poor but it’s another bonus. The facilités are clean although there are just three showers and three toilets for the site but that didn’t seem to cause any problems.

As a warm welcome, everyone receives a freshly baked muffin and feed for the goats and sheep of the cattle farm. Feeding is a great experience especially for children. There is a hiking trail to a waterfall and firefly caves. And of course there are also Motorhome Sites on grass and wonderful clean sanitary facilities. We spent a very peaceful time here.

Enjoyed our stay. Very friendly owners who really assisted. Muffins and paper bag with animal treats were given on arrival. Lovely touch. Our site was very close to 3 other camper vans so you don’t have much privacy.
The amenities are clean and fairly well appointed but could do with a revamp. Appears that some new ablutions are being built which will help.
Lovely to walk to waterfall and see glow worms. WiFi is charged for and limited to 250MB.

If you are in to a bit of mountain biking then the smiths farm is the place to stay 4km from the Queen Charlotte track and the new link track between Havlock and Picton goes right past the gate. This track is fantastic and a great ride which can be enjoyed by all levels of fitness and ability. There is a night walk from the farm past the incredibly well feed sheep to a waterfall surrounded by native bush and so many glow worms it feels like you are looking at the stars. Facilities are great and the owners have been in the area for generations so are top of the line friendly country folk. Get of the boring state highway one take a short scenic deviation to your travels and stay the night here a great place to ease into a relaxing holiday. We will be back

A great family owned campsite. We arrived and the very friendly owner gave us a muffin and food for the animals. Furthermore, we got a map showing a path to a waterfall where you can spot a lot of glow worms during the night. All facilities were very clean and nice to use.
We came here because it was a recommendation from friends of us. We can also recommend everybody staying here.

It was a very warm and friendly reception by the owner. This explained the premises and the way to the falls and fireflies and further hikes very well. It was no problem to extend the stay. The entire area is very neat and clean .

Would have given 11/10 if possible.

A "hidden gem" in the landscape.
A reallu lovely place to stay for the night. Kind family who makes sure that everything is good.
We got two banana muffins and some animal food for their sheep and pigs. We had fun feeding those.

Nice kitchen, toilets and showers.

Walk the recommended walk to the waterfall. Really worth it. It is a quite difficult route though. But it is marked with red dots to make sure that you are going the right way.

If you have the opportunity to go here, you should definitely do it!

Brilliant campsite!

Probably my favourite campsite yet! The owners were very friendly and gave us some muffins on arrival, which it was a very nice touch. Then we got some animal food to feed the pigs, sheep and Katie the goat.

Then we waited till the sunset and we did the walked to the waterfall which was absolutely beautiful! Then when it was dark we waited for the glow worms come out, it was our first time seeing glow worms and really enjoyed it!

The facilities were great, the showers were really good and no time limit. Also got free WiFi. Just an all round brilliant campsite, if you are in the area just stay here, you won’t regret it!

Very nice and comfortable lots to learn and do. Very impressive rubbish system in the cabins; having waste, recycling and compost. Plus the fact that the plastic bags in those bins were compostable. AMAZING!👍
