No frills site, but good location, although you might have to manoeuvre a little for a flat pitch - I was lucky and got one easily.
A short walk along the front brings you to centre of Paihia, where the ferry is, and also where a free shuttle bus to Waitangi historic site picks up / drops off from every hour. The history of the ruins on the camp site is interesting.

Great location, just 5 mins walk from the beach.
The lady staff member was friendly and helpful, and the site has plenty of facilities- washrooms (paid hot showers), kitchen area, swimming pool, lounge area,. There is both water and power at every powered site. All the pitches are on flat ground, and reasonable size, although when I was there there were only about 6 or so others there, so we all had plenty of space.

Beautiful site and location.
Reasonable sized pitches and even though I didn't have a beach front location, I could still get a great view. Laundry, large kitchen, toilet block with free unlimited hot showers. A short walk into Takapuna shopping area also brings you to the bus stops, where it's easy to get the bus into Devonport, and the ferry across to Auckland, and back, all for $18.

Stayed just one night and I was the only one staying.
The lady owner was friendly and helpful. There are 2 picnic benches available for use and the area is flat, but no other facilities. The road gets busy about 7am but it didn't bother me as I had to be up and away from the site anyway, although I wasn't keen on having to back out onto the road as there's no where to turn around. I'd have backed in if I'd realised initially!

We hired one of the 4 berth budget vans for 5 weeks.
We found everyone we dealt with in the company, whether it was by email, phone or in person, to be very helpful and friendly, before, during and at the end of our stay.
The campervan was brilliant- it may have been a little slower up some of the mountains than newer vans, but that didn't matter to us! It was well kitted out with everything from bedding to pots, pans and cutlery etc. and got us everywhere we wanted to go.
We'd thoroughly recommend hiring from Wandekreisen and we intend to do so again, as we'll definitely be back!
Hello Patricia, thank you very much! We are looking forward to meeting you again.
