Do not pay for seeing penguins!
At Victory Beach you get a nice walk to the beach around pyramid shaped volcano. On the beach you can see sea lions in the evening and yellow eyed penguins.

Perfectly located campground just on half way between Te Anau and Milford Sound.
Lovely people (Paul and Jackie), run this place in beautiful nature.

Unpaid. Awesome view, it is really worth to wake up before sunrise and wait for that at the beach.

We did not finish this track, it was boring.
There are at least eleven day tracks which are much better in fiordland!

Definitely good for young travellers.
It is a cheap cruise, is slightly longer than other similar competitors.
Good for any independent traveller, of any age, that hate crowded tour boats!

Cathedral Caves Walk
Caves are nice but it is private so you have to pay.
Also we saw penguins nesting in the cave - it has to be stressful there - flashing cameras, torches. I did not see nothing that prohibited this.

Bluebridge is probably the same. It is really nice way to transport between islands through wonderful Marlborough Sounds!

Rum Currie's Hut
Quiet site (unpaid), 1km from the road, next to the pure river.
It is actually between fruit trees, toilets, fireplaces, tables provided.
