  • My first and worse experience ever with Interislander ferry from Wellington to Picton!

    All staff i have dealt with was simply rude. In the dining area I was told to "make up your mind". An hour before arriving at Picton I was chaced out of my room by a cleaner. When I asked for an explanation, he called his supervisor who also told me I had to leave. I said no problem, but I just want to understand why, but the response was that "I am not going into an argument". At the deck I asked some crew member for directions to where the trucks were parked, and I was told to get out the same way I got in, with an attitude that was supposed to made me feel like an idiot! In short, NEVER AGAIN ON INTERISLANDER! Shame on you! We are your clients - not animals!

  • Yesterday we rode 10 very long hours from Queenstown on the motorbike needing to return from Picton to Wellington.

    The staff went above and beyond to assist us getting on the 9.30pm ferry sailing which we were so absolutely grateful for. Hey guys, you are amazing and I particularly are ever so grateful. Sincerely Maria Longstaff

  • Premium Lounge - Dont waste yr money,its crap crap and crap.

    its such a small dingy crowded area, food is crap no views we had to sit in the middle of room on a 4 sitter table sharing it with anothe couple. The energy in there was depressing. We left sat in the general lounge which was 100 ti es better and nicer,had real coffee a and sushi for lunch.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our Interislander ferry experience.

    The trip was smooth despite the weather being wet & windy. The staff were extremely professional, helpful & friendly. The biggest surprise was that we found a separate area on the boat called the Pelorus Jack Lounge where for an additional $50 you got beautiful big lounge chairs, sensational.scones, cheeses & wonderful happy service. We had a great time.

    Cancellation and only optic to rebook was 12 days out. Also problems on trip to South Island. My recommendation is don’t use. Rather fly.

  • Stuck waiting to get boarded for over 2h.

    They recommended to come early for check in but in reallity just to sit in a car and waiting, all the smart ppl came at the end only. Do NOT come for early boarding, you will just waste your time waiting in a car!!!

    Terrible experience overall, eg no good WIFI, no good views as majority of sits located in a way that won't allow any good views.

    I would say it's just a transport between the islands, everything is uncomfortable. Like to sit inside is sooo hot!! As no running air conditioners, outside is very windy, the whole boat is incredibly overcrowded!!!

    Absolutely terrible experience!!

  • We had a few hiccups and had to keep changing our booking, Picton ground staff were amazing and supportive of our situation.

    We booked lounge on the Ferry and that was outstanding with really friendly staff too! Great experience!!!

  • I had been quite seriously injured a few days before returning home from the S.I.

    The crew of the Aratere looked after me very well. A special thank you to Yazzy for the complimentary scone and cream and chat. You made the crossing so much more

    They can take your rental car too. Comfortable accommodations inside and gorgeous views outside on the deck.

  • Very nice crossing on the ferry!

    Nice views, good chairs, clean toilets etc. We even saw some dolphins! The sunset was also very nice.

    Terrible customer service. We arrived 30 mins before departure as stated on their tickets and were told by the manager that we could not get on despite cars being wheeled on as we stood there. Go with Bluebridge ferries

    Over sold and uncomfortable. Over $400 for my partner and I to be extremely uncomfortable for 3 hours. I will be booking with Bluebridge from now on.

  • Booking with inter island ferry today- for Monday Nov 20- we were quoted $530 for a refundable fare!

    DOUBLE what friends (larger van and 2people)paid last Thursday. ($264)

    So 2 ferries are out of commission and they are transferring the repair cost to their customers- this is ONE WAY

    They do not offer any fixed prices and there are no promises whether they will sail for sure. They are taking total advantage of customers! Not impressed with this service. I’m kinda scared of what we’ll be charged to come back!
