Wonderful staff that were very helpful and full of information not only on the Glacier but also on tramps in the area and places to camp.

A below average information centre for the Pancake Rocks and surrounding area.
Lots of kitchy souvenirs. Best part of the information centre was its friendly staff and clean bathrooms.

Nice campground just north of Taupo town.
Right alongside a beautiful river. Lots of things close by. Huka falls, hot waterfall, walking trails and town.

Worth the drive!!
At the top of the North Island is Cape Reinga, a beautiful place of Maori culture!!

Breathtaking views and well kept trails.

A wonderful 18km tramp up to Welcome Flat Hut.
Breathtaking views of the mountains and a lovely natural hot spring to soak your tired bones.

For a free campsite this has to be the worst.
There were so many bees we did not even make dinner. We left the next morning with bees in the car!

Amazing to just walk around or if you are into rock climbing there is so much to explore!! It is one of the best things I did in NZ!

Interislander Ferry
A great way to get to the South Island.
Beautiful views of the coast and lots of comfy seating.
Thanks Joshua. We've been working hard to raise the bar in recent years. In August our largest ship is getting a $8.5million refurbishment so the seating will shortly be even better.
