Good prices, nice staff - you can spend all day there.
Hot pools are great for cold days.
North Island ▷ Rotorua Region ▷ Waiotapu ▷
Very interesting but we probably expected a little bit more for this money - a longer track around the area and too many people.
North Island ▷ Hawkes Bay ▷ Napier ▷
Really nice and interesting exposition with salt and freshwater aquariums, undersea tunnel with sharks and mantos, reptiles.
Unfortunately second exposition with ocean mammals was closed.
South Island ▷ Nelson Region ▷ Nelson ▷
Very nice camp, cheap (only $6 pp/day).
It is close to the city centre, at a beautiful valley, near the river and few barbecue spots and nice tracks (you must pay for showers and laundry).
South Island ▷ Nelson Region ▷ Richmond ▷
Good camp, nice kitchen and bathrooms.
It is close to the city centre and a lot of orchards (so good accomodation for seasonal workers). Not so expensive.
North Island ▷ Taranaki ▷ Mt Taranaki ▷
Great experience, final part is quite difficult, but if you have fine weather it is the most beautiful track and view in North Island.
It takes 8-10 hours.
South Island ▷ Nelson Region ▷ Mapua ▷
Nice and cheap beach camp ($6pp/day) with cold shower and toilets.
North Island ▷ Ruapehu ▷ Tongariro / National Park Village ▷
Really great walk!!
Amazing one day trip, probably the best of the best from the North Island? It is only one way, no circuit, so must think about transport.
North Island ▷ Wairarapa ▷ Ngawi ▷
Nice one day trip from Wellington (or from way to Wellington).
The southernmost point of North with lighthouse at rocks and amazing seal colony!! Not so many people :)
North Island ▷ Northland ▷ Whangarei ▷
Nice non-living exposition (history, nature) and amazing kiwihouse with native animals including geckos, skinks, fish, kiwi and morepork.
Great for rainy days!!
South Island ▷ Nelson Region ▷ Golden Bay ▷
Beautiful part of Kahurangi National Park from the famous Heaphy Track - less people!!
Lots of one day or more day tracks around Cobb reservoir, very narrow route to this place. A lot of huts!
