PiwiWiwi might have a silly name, but we're totally serious about New Zealand road trips.
Our campervans are fully kitted out to comfortably transport you around New Zealand checking everything our country has to offer (beaches, walks, waterfalls, vineyards, or museums - whatever floats your particular boat...)
We have vans tall enough to stand up in yet small enough to park easily. They are all well equipped - we've been campervanning for years, so know what you need and what gets in the way - you just need to bring your clothes, buy some food, and you're away. Our vans have stereos that you can plug your iPod into (you can’t have a road trip without a soundtrack) and USB charging points to keep your gadgets full of juice. For all you surfers - we're also the only company in NZ with surfboard stroage straps in our vans to keep your boards safely out of your way when you're not in the waves. For cyclists - we have bike racks for our vans too.
All of our vans are certified SELF CONTAINED so you have access to NZ's beautiful FREEDOM CAMPING spots.
Our customers seem to be happy with what we do... why not give us a go too?

I cannot recommend PiwiWiwi highly enough. We inquired about a shorter-than-usual hire on very short notice, and I know that all involved went out of their way to get everything ready for us in time for our arrival. The van was comfortable, reliable, well-equipped, and the quality fit-out has a very bespoke, home-made feel. Great attention is paid to every detail and I have no doubt that the vans are meticulously maintained. The layout is clever, leaving plenty of space even for two relatively tall guys. Nick and Julie are knowledgeable, warm, and welcoming. The whole experience felt more like renting a van from a friend than a business - even down to the kids playing in the next room while we were sorting the paperwork. It was a delight!

Our rental van was awesome, and came pristine and very well furnished. The owner was so friendly and helpful. He took the extra time at the start to walk us through every square inch of the van and give us plenty of great recommendations on what to see and where to go. It was great to rent an inconspicuous no logo van from a wonderful local family run business. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved our campervan! Nick with PiwiWiwii campervan rentals was so helpful, accommodating, fairly priced, & speedy with communication. I wouldn’t rent from anywhere else. The van was clean, in excellent condition, with a great layout. Furthermore, there was so much storage space, plus fold out table & chairs & other wee perks that made the van even more convenient & comfortable for our multi week adventure. I could have spent months traveling around in our van; I fell a bit in love with it, I must admit. I absolutely recommend PiwiWiwicampervan rentals!
PiwiWiwi are a fantastic company run by a lovely family. Our experience with Nick and his wife was second to none, they went over and above expectation to ensure we had an enjoyable trip. They helped us tweak our itinerary to travel the best roads, recommended places to stop off, and even gave us some food to get us started!
We booked last minute and only the older van was available, but it was a great surprise to find it had all the things you'd want and more. A comfortable bed and loads of room in the camper to cook, eat and chill out and it drove great. We loved the fact that the van was unbranded and blended in with the locals.
We'll definitely be hiring from PiwiWiwi again, especially after getting a sneak peak at their new fleet of brand new campers!

PiwiWiwi were brilliant right from the first enquiry making the whole experience totally hassle free, we just had to arrive at Christchurch airport and Nick at PiwiWiwi got us on the road within an hour or so. This was our first time in the South Island and first time in a campervan so Nick showed us the ropes and provided plenty of advice on the best places to visit. The van was fitted out with everything we needed enabling us to do a mix of freedom and holiday park camping. If you are looking for the personal touch when booking a van then PiwiWiwi is the way to go ... Nick and his family are lovely, thank you for making our trip such a fantastic experience.
Very affordable. Worked flawlessly. Very well maintained vehicle. Nick and his family is lovely and accommodating. Put 4700 km’s on in 23 days and never felt unsafe or worried about the vehicle performance. Had big Brits vans pulling up beside us with noisy obnoxious water pumps. Loved everything about Piwiwiwi
Campervan was not the newest but very reliable and well equipped. Nick was very helpful with airport transfers and advice. Would not hesitate to recommend.
We rented the van for 4 weeks in Dec/Jan and we were not disappointed. We got one of the newly refurbished and was perfect: large and high enough to stand, clean, very well equipped. We got a lot of tips and advice when arriving and everything went smoothly. We would rent again at PiwiWiwi and would highly recommend it!

PiwiWiwi is not your big, commercial campervan rental company. With just 8 campervans, it's personal, but very professional.
Nick picked me up from my accommodation in Christchurch and after a cup of coffee in their kitchen I met my campervan, which was exactly what I needed for a 5 week roadtrip. Well equipped, well taken care of. With 500.000k on the meter, it was still running like a sportscar. During my trip Nick sent some mails or texts to warn me for bad weather or wishing me a merry Christmas and gave me tips where to go when I asked for it. I loved this, I felt part of a small campervanfamily. PiwiWiwi was recommended to me by friends and I love passing on this recommendation. If I ever go back to New Zealand, I would definitely rent my campervan with PiwiWiwi again. Top company, top people.

Lovely little plain white van. In a world of decked out vans it’s nice to fly under the radar a bit. Nick was very quick to respond to any and all of our questions before the trip. He gave a thorough walk through of the van. The van was very well maintained and clean. The layout is so nice too! Each design item is very thoughtfully laid out and made for a comfortable camping experience.
Piwiwiwi campervans were absolutely amazing! We had never campervanned before this trip but Nick was so good at explaining how the van worked that we had no trouble at all. The layout of the van was perfect for cooking/ meal prepping, sleeping and chilling. We found there was quite a lot of space for our things and we never ran out of room. I would definitely recommend Piwiwiwi to anyone going to New Zealand and as it’s a small company you definitely feel like you are being looked after
Piwiwiwi is a small family run company. I had an incredible experience renting our van from Nick. Because we wanted an automatic, we ended up with an older Toyota Hi-Ace, but it had everything we needed and the price was right. It was comfortable for 2 people for a 3 week trip. We had no issues with the van - all worked well mechanically, it was clean, and well stocked. I particularly liked that this van had zero markings so we could blend in a wee bit more in the midst of all of the Britz, Maui’s, and Jucy vans. I would recommend this company to anyone. Nick even picked us up from our hotel in Christchurch. Very personal service that you wouldn’t find at any of the big companies.
We did an epic journey around the south island and half of the north island with the piwiwi campers! All was arranged like expected and the familiar atmosphere made it like renting a van from friends :) Any problem we had we could troubleshoot with the owner, which was only one. The vans were in perfect condition, mechanical and interior wise, considering their age. If we would go back to NZ (chances are high) we would take piwiwi again for sure! Regards Eva & Seppe
