This is our second time renting from Piwiwiwi, and we wouldn’t choose any other company.

Their campers are reasonably priced and come equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The airport pick-up and drop-off are super convenient, though returning the van on the last day is always a bit of a downer! Nick was just a call or message away if we needed anything during our trip. Highly recommend these guys!

We rented our camper for 2 weeks and it was perfect.

We had a blue unmarked van, which was big and comfortable enough to stay in when the weather was bad, but small enough to park anywhere.

It was kitted out with everything we needed for both camp site and freedom camping. Very comfortable bed for 2. Nice and warm when it got chilly.

Nick was so helpful, he picked us up and delivered us back to Christchurch, & gave us all the info we needed for a great trip.

The only problem we had was giving the van back at the end of our trip :(

    The ideal van.

Full stop. Comes with solar on the roof and an inverter, so no need for powered camp site.

Nick is easy to talk to, full of knowledge. Had an excellent time.

Would I book with PiwiWiwi again? Most definitely! I cannot recommend them high enough :)

Outstanding in every way: communication, quality, comfort, etc.

Nick gives a thorough tutorial before you take off and there is also a helpful guide provided within the van.

The van itself is fantastic. Tinted windows. extended roof so you could stand inside. The stove is inside which is great if you have a stretch of bad weather. Comfy bed. The overall design was fantastic.

Somethings that separate the van from others is you do not need electrical hook up. It has a converter that'll charge both when the car is running and via solar power. The van also isn't plastic with the company logo which is very nice.

When we shopped around for vans this was by far the best bang for you buck as well.

    Could not recommend Piwiwiwi enough.

We had the best experience ever.

Our van was really smartly designed with great little touches like a coffee plunger, drying line and pegs. At first we were a little scared as our van could not plug in but we soon found out that the solar pannel on top provided enough electricity for everything we needed. So we even saved some money as we never had to go to a powered site. Communication by Whatsapp was also great and fast. Would highly recommend!

    Piwiwiwi is the real deal!

Nick and Julie have the best campervans to explore New Zealand. This is my second time renting with Piwiwiwi and won't be my last. The campervans are designed with functionality and efficiency in mind and are outfitted with all the essentials you might need during your travels, including cookware, linens, towels, and chairs. The fridge, stovetop, and sink are easy to use, and the bed is comfortable for two people. The van also has ample storage room and space for two people to navigate. I’ve never had to use the toilet in the van as there are facilities with showers and toilets available throughout the many holiday parks. The van is also extremely easy to handle and drive, and the lower gears are invaluable for steep and winding mountain driving. The van is nondescript and not covered in logos, which is a bonus. The best part of Piwiwiwi though is the level of genuine and kind service they provide, from the airport pickup/drop-off, to Nick’s thorough tour of the van with detailed instructions on all the components. Piwiwiwi goes above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable, happy, and ready for a seamless trip. If you are thinking of renting a campervan, then Piwiwiwi is the right choice!

We spent 3 weeks in a piwiwi campervan and were so happy that we chose this company.

The vans are very well thought through and provides everything you need for cooking, storing and charging. A few extra features that other vans don't have: solar panel charging for basically limitless electricity (no need to book powered campsites), thick matress, excellent storage possibilities, high roof (you can actually stand in the van which was much appreciated), tinted windows and thick curtains and the fact that there are no tacky company logos covering the van! We basically looked like locals. Nick also provides personalised customer service with pick-up and some helpful itenary tips. We would rent from him again - no doubt!

Piwiwiwi caravans runs a professional operation with well maintained vans.

My wife and I rented one of their Toyota Hi-Ace for 2 weeks over new years 2024. The van was in immaculate condition with no issues whatsoever. It's well layed out and appointed with everything needed for a tour of New Zealand. The gear down to the coffee plunger and camp chairs were provided, so it's a rent and go explore set up.

Nick the owner was super attentive while corresponding before the rental, and with anything we needed during the rental period. He picked us up at the airport and we transitioned into his van seamlessly. He also dropped us at the airport for our departure.

The crew at Piwiwiwi are professional and were interested in us having a great time touring around.

If your lucky enough to secure a campervan from Nick and co. you'll not be disappointed.

    10/10 would rent again.

Thanks for making our tour around the south island positively memorable

A bit late but we still felt we should provide some feedback after travelling with a PiwiWiwi campervan 6 months ago!

So we were planning on travelling NZ for 6 weeks, but had to extend because the experience was amazing. Despite winter approaching and actually wet and chilly days and nights (even snow in Queenstown!) we had a very comfortable stay in 'our' van. Nick provided us with everything we needed, you only need to ask. So for extra's we had a fan-heater (life-saver esp for me), keep-cups, tub, line and clothes pegs, extra doona, and even umbrella's and a body board. We've used all of it. Due to the weather we've only stayed on campgrounds, so we could use showers and kitchen, and the fan-heater of course (powered sites). Nevertheless during the day, travelling the country, we had a great sense of freedom, just parking the van in the most beautiful spots to gaze at the sea, read a book or go for a hike. The van is very practical, not cluttered, with loads of space for luggage and extra's. It didn't feel cramped with 2 people, despite the weather forcing us indoors. Also parking in the cities was super easy due to the size of the van, regular parking spots were great. Actually, after returning to Au, back to tent-camping, I felt a bit spoilt in NZ, 'cause the van-camping was so much easier..... but I'm trying to ignore that. Nick was absolutely lovely and helpful, even when we contacted him during travels. So glad we chose PiwiWiwi, and hope to be back in a couple of years.

Great unmarked campervan, modern, very clean, standing height 1.95m, lovely to travel in, sufficient space given it's a campervan ;).

Ran smoothly and no problems at all. Nick was super nice and we felt we were in good hands. Would definitely rent from PiwiWiwi again. It's great to support a family business compared to the big outfits where you're just a number.

    Can't recommend Piwiwiwi high enough!

We had a van for 31 nights, and it performed flawlessly (put on over 3700km!). Nick was amazing to deal with, and accommodated every need we had. We looked into several other NZ campervan rental companies, including checking out their actual vans. Piwiwiwi has the best vans, period. Their custom design includes a lot of features not found on other vans - cool fold-out table, thicker mattress pads, better roof insulation, screened windows, and much more. A Piwiwiwi rental also includes a ton of stuff that the other companies charge extra for - like map book, outside chairs, electric heater, extra mattress pad and bedding (we rented in winter), and more. Trust me, you will not go wrong.
