Quiet and simple place
Friendly owners
Clean toilets and hot showers
Affordable price
Difficult access to the beach
Limited amenities
Remote location
Quiet and simple place, just flat grass.
I thought there would be a crossing somewhere to the south side of the river but nope…haha
I was one of two folks here in late April ‘23. Shortly after I arrived around 5pm the owner came by and welcomed me and took my $$.
Tried walking to the beach from the campsite but it gets really rough and I didn’t make it. I did see some cute cows though.
However I caught an amazing sunset by driving to the beach at the end of the road. Much easier, and there’s a wetlands reserve to see some cool birds.
Apparently a local man goes on his Morning walk with a pet/friend goose past the campsite, very sorry to miss that.

Nice quiet place, basic shower ($2) and free washing machine.
Line to dry clothes. A wee way from beach though, about 30 minute walk, but you can drive from camp to carpark at end of road. Nice friendly owners. Next to river with a walk along stopbank. At $8 unpowered site per night, real value for money!

We only stayed for one night but would definitely stay again.
It was very quiet with basic facilities but for the price it was perfect. Clean toilets, kitchen (toaster/kettle) and hot showers ($2pp extra). At $10 for a powered site it's much cheaper than most campsites.

Lovely owners, good facilities for being a small camp.
Nice and quiet and felt really safe. Only 2-3 caravans on site. Affordable at $12 per night for an unpowered site for 2 ppl (that included $4 for 2 hot showers, so $8 for camping alone).

Lovely peaceful camping spot run by Vicky and Frank.
Clean and newly painted hot showers/flushing toilets. Make sure you take a wander up the road to check out the house names!

Small grassed section about 1 kilometer short of the beach, just as you come into Scotts Ferry.
Toilets not great, gents didn't have hand-basin. Both toilets and showers are in concrete water tanks. Kitchen seemed fine. Nice and cheap ($5 for non powered site for the family), but permanent caravans etc seemed to fill half the site and were in a state of disrepair. Seemed to have a bunch of strange long stay residents, which made for slightly uncomfortable atmosphere.
Custodians very friendly. Difficult to access the beach as sometimes you have to ford through 50-100m stretch of water just beyond the carpark.
