DO NOT RECCOMEND!

Worst service ever experienced!!

They have cheap cars. If nothing.happens to the car you will be lucky to get back your 2000 NZD bond.

Unfortunately for me i got a small dent at passenger's door for which i was charged the total bond! Ridiculous!

The staff at Christchurch office promised me to be refunded before one month....

At this day it is already 70 days since drop off! More than 2 months. And i still did not get any refund or reply to my emails!

You can not reach them! Neither by phone or email!

Rip off!!

You can find other cheap and good deals. Trust me, this can be your worst nightmare!

Arrived in beautiful Christchurch, at the airport. Had booked a car for the three days I was to be there. Was picked up by a lovely young man and taken to the Snap rentals depot. The sign up was easy, thorough and quick. Great communication re directions to take for my destination, map given and off I went. Nice little Toyota Yaris which drove like a dream. Returned the car prior to leaving on Sunday. Fantastic service from the young woman who was the check-in, checkout person, driver to the airport, cleaner etc. she promptly cancelled the deposit that was being held on my card. No fuss, easy interactions. She was so friendly, an asset to the company. Would definitely use Snap Rentals again. Highly recommend!

The cars were exceptionally good value for money they were in reasonable condition for their age and there was no problems with the cars there is no problems with the service at all and I would highly recommend them to anyone else

we arrived into Auckland, ready for our pick up from Snap Rentals as we had booked on line a week before. we waited 45 mins to be picked up, in between this time i called them 9 times and my husband called them 10. no answer. we had to get a taxi out to them, which cost us $33, on top of the car that we had already paid for! we were not very happy!! we asked for a refund for the taxi. then, we drove off in our car towards Whangerai, getting dark, and realized that we had only 1 WORKING headlight. this was not good at all..started raining really heavy, stopped at a gas station to check if we could replace the lightbulb (which is not our job to do in the first place), realized that we could not find the one needed so had to keep driving. it was the worst and most dangerous experience i have had. DO NOT RENT from Snap unless you check everything is working...Again, which should not be your job.....we are still waiting on our taxi refund, which has been over 1 month now. We will NEVER rent from them again.

Dishonest and liars.

Be weary of renting from Snap Rentals. If you run into car troubles between Auckland and Christchurch you are out of luck as they have no offices in between.

I rented a car from them in Auckland that was severely dented, given with 3/4 of a tank and 200,000+ miles. On day 2 the transmission started to fail while driving over a mountain pass. I was stuck in Taupo for a day waiting for a new car to be driven to me from Auckland.

Secondly, they constantly have a 3rd party company answer their phone calls with no one from the main office to get in touch with you even during a breakdown. I spent 2 hours trying to get ahold of someone consistently told by the agency that "they would relay the message."

Next, they charge your credit card on file without authorization or consent.

Lastly, when they owe you money (daily rate, daily insurance rate, missing full tank of gas upon pick up, as well as fraudulent charges) they will pretend to issue a refund but not actually process it. I had to call my credit card company and contest charges a week after they "refunded me."

One rep promised to compensate me for losses as a result of the car breaking down (transmission failure on the 2nd day). Ownership and management immediately said no. The employee that promised me reimbursement is no longer at the company. I was promised follow up after they followed up with the former employee. Since dropping the car off, my emails and phone calls have gone unanswered.

For a small company with seemingly accessible management, they don't seem to follow up on promises provided by staff nor due refunds according to their own policies.
