I travelled to Auckland via Intercity on the 1.3.20 (from Westshore, Napier), returning to the (Westshore, Napier) on the evening of 8.3.20.
I was very impressed with the Bus Driver (Ngaio), who was bright and very helpful all the way through to Manukau where we changed Drivers.
Ngaio kept us fully informed along the way with her bright and efficient manner, and was very clear and concise with instructions.
I felt Ngaio really built your Intercity Service up and I was impressed.

When we changed Drivers at Manukau, the Driver failed to introduce himself and no other information (ie when we would be likely to arrive in Auckland as we were running late. Even no mention of the importance of wearing seat belts). The Driver just got into his Drivers seat and off we went. He did however inform the passengers of the approaching stops from Manukau and was nicely spoken.

On the return journey from Auckland Central , I experienced very much the same.
When we stopped at Manukau, another Driver came on board.

His name was Jamie and he was excellent, with introducing himself and informed the passengers about wearing the seat belts provided.
He gave really good instructions, was very bright and friendly and again was very helpful to the passengers.
I felt both Jamie and Ngaio were an asset to your Organisation.

I am making these comments, not to be critical but to encourage your Organisation.
It is a very good service. Thank you very much.

The bus driver was nice and informative, but the bus was very bumpy (I absolutely dont suffer from car sickness but this time I it almost got me) and the wifi was not working, a long journey with no connection can be even longer..quite expensive for what you get.

My nephew and I experienced our bus trip from New Plymouth to Hamilton this morning. The scenery was amazing and
the company and conversation with the young lady next to me made the whole trip very enjoyable.

Intercity had changed their departure times while the slip on SH4 happened making departures times 30 minutes later.
They are leaving passengers stranded in small towns when there is only 1 bus per day and no trains and they DONT CARE.
The buses are in bad condition with cracked windscreens and regular breakdowns.

Missed our Intercity bus to Hamilton due to long queues at customs at Auck International Airport. Spoke to Sharon on another Intercity bus. She was very helpful rebooking us and making sure we got on the right bus to Hamilton.

Shame I can’t give it a ZERO!

Having arrived from balmy Sydney to a howling southerly in Wellington we were left standing in a freezing cold car park for a bus they had CANCELLED DUE 2 HOLIDAYS. Used up a FORTUNE in roaming to beyond this and then advised to pay for an overnight hotel (AT OUR EXPENSE) and they would credit us the morning service the next day...,

Turned into a Bonding experience on how to identify a “serial killer” hitchhiking northun the pouring rain!

Now they have the monopoly again it’s back to the same “service” 😡

What a joke! The bus broke down. The toilet wasn't working. Neither Wi-Fi as it was an uncomfortable replacement bus to start with. Been sitting by the road for 2 hrs now, waiting... Did someone mention refund...? Haha, didn't think so... Stay away from this company.

Intercity is good when all goes to plan; but of things go awry- don't expect support, customer service or any kind of follow up.

As a frequent traveler with intercity- I am unimpressed with my recent experience!

My last trip from Wellington to Palmerston North was delayed 2 hours - with no time frame given with which to expect a bus despite calling and emailing. 2 hours outside in the cold with no bus in sight or constructive comms meant that I did not even have the option to go inside and get warm or even go to the toilet for fear of missing the bus. This then was compounded by the bus having no working toilet. Oh the joy's.

I would like to mention however that the replacement bus driver was lovely, professional and did his best to remedy a horrid trip. His management of a disorderly passenger was to be commended.

Ultimately however, my experience was uncomfortable, frustrating and all around disappointing and lacking. Not even a partial refund offered for the delay.
