The Wharepapa Arthur Marble Aquifer is a complicated sounding water body. But to put it simply, it's the same aquifer that feeds the Waikoropupu springs. That's been recorded as one of the top 3 cleanest water bodies in the world.
These unfashionable Potable Water taps happen to access this aquifer.
So you can fill your boots, and your Campervan full of this wonderful water. For free.
It feels almost too luxurious to shower in this stuff. Or simply treat it carefully and savour for days. You'll perhaps never feel so pure again.

Takaka Public Dump Station
Helpful hints for using this dump station:
• Use disposable gloves and remember to wash your hands afterwards.
• Park close and make sure that all waste goes into the pit.
• Put your holding tank or cassette lid somewhere safe so it doesn't fall in the pit.
• Both grey and black water can be disposed of here.
• Don't put sanitary or other cleaning wipes down the drain - these can block the pipework.
• Clean up ALL waste, leave the site as you would expect to find it.
• NEVER fill your freshwater tank or water bottles from this dump station. Drinking water is available from each end of the island.
• Do Not Dump Composting toilet waste Here. It blocks the drains and pumps.
• Take all rubbish to the Takaka Recycling Centre located in Scott Road.
• Recycling can also occur at the Takaka Information Centre.
