North Island ▷ Ruapehu ▷ Tongariro / National Park Village ▷
Quiet campsite set in beech woodland.
Plenty of room for our 7.2m van. Good showers & toilets. Very close to excellent walking tracks eg Taranaki Falls. Good views of Mnt Ruapehu through the trees. Stayed 1 night
South Island ▷ Kaikoura Region ▷ Kaikoura ▷
Stayed 2 nights with 7.2m camper van.
Pitches (grassed) quite close - not a problem in Nov but could feel tight in summer. Staff very helpful and friendly, showers excellent. Very convenient for the Whale watch centre - only 10-15 minutes walk. Nice local restaurants - some discount for campers.
South Island ▷ West Coast ▷ Hokitika ▷
A nice campground, very close to large beach.
Beautiful sunset over Tasman sea. Staff very helpful and friendly. Free Wifi.Facilities clean.
Pitches only just big enough for our 7.2m van and quite close to each other - OK when half empty in November perhaps.
Gloworm Dell just across the road. Stayed 1 night on route from Kaikura to Fox Glacier.
North Island ▷ Rotorua Region ▷ Rotorua ▷
Lovely small campsite with many pitches next to the stream.
Plenty of room for our 7.2 metre van. Very helpful owner with good knowledge of the fishing and helpful with booking local events. Good shower block, well kept and clean site. Good based for exploring Rotorua - away from the sulphur smells! Unfortunately too cold and early season for me to bag any trout!
North Island ▷ Wellington Region ▷ Hutt Valley ▷
Quiet campground next to the Hutt river.
Plenty of room for 7.2m van. Good toilets & showers - clean. Did not see much of the owners as we arrived late on first night.
Great place to explore LOTR film locations - next to Isengard (Harcourt Park) gardens and down the valley from Rivendell (Kaitoke Regional Park). Also convenient for Wellington and the ferry.
