Skyline Gondola
Really enjoyed it.
OK, so it's not "real" Maori culture, but what would you expect at the top of a Gondola? Of course it's going to be commercial, but if you're not going to see any other Maori culture, this is a way to get a glimpse of another way of life, and worth seeing for that. Great enthusiasm from the performers.

A good way to spend a rainy day, lots of information, some fascinating documentaries and museum pieces.
There was no need for the CGI Kea though!

Great service.
We were dropped off at one beach and walked back to another to get picked up and taken back to Kaiteriteri. The walk was lovely and so was the swim afterwards! Great staff.

Well worthwhile, the scenery is stunning.
I felt the guides were a little lacking in enthusiasm though - I can't blame them, I just got the sense that they must do this same route over and over and were a bit bored with it.

Wilkin River Jets
Absolutely fantastic, probably my favourite day in NZ.
We did a heli-walk- jetboat trip. About 25 mins in the helicopter with some amazing sites and excellent flying, then a lovely walk through native trees and past great waterfalls down to the main valley, where you meet the jet boat for the ride back to base. You can easily tailor your own trip, get dropped off, camp, stay in DOC huts etc. Great staff.

Mad Dog Riverboarding
Excellent experience.
Pretty full on with a lot of people getting rescued, and one guy getting a bit of a cut - this isn't a totally controlled experience, it's a proper fast flowing river with large rapids and rocks. The staff were great, good fun but took it pretty seriously (they need to, people would get in trouble if they weren't there). The jet ski, slide and rock jumps at the end are great.

Shotover Canyon Swing
Amazing, the staff are great, really good fun and the swing literally took my breath away.
Doing two jumps is better value, but the photos and DVD are pretty expensive. Definitely reccomended though.

Wilderness Motorhomes
Great service and a great motorhome.
The Basejumper had everything you could want in it - minus the logos. OK, so we didn't quite pass as locals but it's a step in the right direction. The van is perfectly set up for NZ camping, and works well both at sites and wild camping, and covers long distances very well.
