Great place, quiet and well maintained facilities just a stone throw from the beach and a short stroll to the boulders.
the owner was helpful with great suggestions and tips for day trips. Highly recommended.

Hard stand camping ground next to ovals with toilet facilities.
Quiet but very windy the night we stayed. The ladies at the local i-site were very helpful with freedom camping locations and also manage the local museum which is worth a look

Stayed for one night and all the vans were spaced apart and on hard stands.
The facilities were good and clean. Made the mistake of staying across the road the next time to see what that was like and felt like a sardine in a sardine can. Choose the Top 10 if you want some space..
Thanks very much for your comments on our sites, it's great to hear you were happy with the size of site and our facilities. Take care

Very poor.
Initially were more interested in talking to each other than assist a customer. Then provided information that was wrong, ie tours and opening times. Seems they need to check their facts before making statements that are factually incorrect.

Tiny little museum asking $5 to view.
Didn't even bother when I have been to larger museums that only request a gold coin donation and have more exhibits, ie Waikawa (curio bay) and cromwell. Perhaps they should consider a gold coin donation and they might increase their patronage 500%

Packed in as is typical with Top 10 parks and expensive but is clean.

very helpful staff with local knowledge and information, they also manage the local museum which is a gold coin donation unlike some overpriced museums in the south island.

Nice views.
Perhaps not as suited to larger motorhomes when wet as limited hard stand spots. Pity the local surfers are the ones leaving the rubbish and stubbies all around whilst the tourist use the recycling facilities for their rubbish.

Good clean camp that's facilities were spotlessly clean and there was good hot water and pressure.
Didn't use the kitchen so can't comment on that. this site is a few k's off the highway near the Riverstone Kitchen restaurant and is very quiet. Would stay here again.

Clean but expensive, even by Top 10 standards.
Handy to town and sites are quite close.

Did the Friday cruise on the mail boat to the outer edges of the sound with the ginger Jock Jim and his faithful sidekick Penny who picked us up from Picton.
The trip was in good weather and there was commentary as we were shown the sights as they did their mail run to the locals. We got to see a pod of dolphins swimming with the boat and feed the pigs that are tame on the jetty as he delivered mail to one of the properties.
Was a full day and excellent value for money at $128 with free pickup and drop off in Picton. Free tea and coffee were provided.
Highly recommended as a good day out.

Was originally reluctant after seeing a "1" rating on the site, however we booked one night and extended to a week, the owners were very helpful and the park was very quiet and the facilities older than
some were spotlessly clean and it is very quiet being off the main road unlike others. Would appear the "1" rating is revenge for being caught trying to sneak in some extra guests without paying, the managers a swiss couple are very friendly and helpful. Would stay again as there sites were the largest we encountered in two trips to NZ with plenty of room.

The night we stayed the park was well over half empty though they managed to pack us all in together in one section, great evening listening to the sliding doors of camper vans.
Wouldn't bother coming back here again. Would have been better if we had some space. Previously stayed at another Kaikoura holiday parks where we were spaced apart, would go back there in future.

Average site where you are packed in on top of each other.
On the occasion we stayed the manager stated that the general manager of Big4 caravan parks was staying on the Monday. She also advised that there was only 1 amenities block open during winter, but this changed when the GM arrived. On one night they even parked another van next to us on the access road when over half the park was empty. They did manage to open another amenities block when the GM arrived, can't have him queueing now can we?. On the good side the showers were clean and ample hot water and pressure.

Over priced and well past its use-by date.
This place needs a major refurb as the facilities are very tired. From the avocado coloured basins and the missing grout in the tiles this place screams out 1970. The only good thing was a nice view over the harbour, but it is over priced for the view. The hard stands are close together and there is no privacy, along with the recycling facilities being a joke as all the rubbish is put in a rubbish trailer which appeared to not been emptied for some time as it was full. Not recommended.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, we would like to take the opportunity to explain that there was some upgrading of the ablution blocks in progress when you visited, which unfortunately meant they were not presented in the best light, but this work will be finished in the near future. As it also happened the recycling trailer was away for modification and as a consequence we only had the one trailer available on the days you were there, meaning we were unable to keep the different types of rubbish separate. The trailer has since been put back into service and it is business as usual.

Great place close to the beach and the owner was very helpful with local knowledge and tips.
This is an eco campsite and you carry out what you carried in. yes the toilets are long drop but they arent that smelly and you do have to pay for a shower but overall this place isn't expensive. It is a great place to relax with some great views. I would recommend this place and will come back again.

First off they were extremely pleasant organising the camper through email and picked us up from the motel on arrival.
As our van needed new tyres and that hadnt been done he loaned us his own car to get our shopping done which was great. However we have found that there are little things and some not so little that have been overlooked.
TV does not work ..
Central heating doesnt work on 240v.
Drain in sink is partially blocked.
Sullage fitting moves when attempting to empty grey water from tank..
Apart from that it is quite well equipped.
Thanks for taking the time to post your comments & rate your Tui Experience.
I do hope that overall you had a blast, however it's not great to hear that you had a few problems with things. The TV works off the analog network and not digital, therefore the reception is very poor in some areas of NZ. However we hope you did get use from the DVD player. Our vehicles do go through quality checks before they are dispatched to our customers where the equipment is checked. I'm sorry if in this case some things slipped through un-noticed. I'll be sure to pass this feedback onto our operations team so they can follow this up with our branches.
Safe travells for your future adventures.
Cheers
