Campground was fine, good showers, kitchen clean and tidy. Not in town, so bit of a hill walk to get down there or a 3 minute drive.
Signposting to get there could be a bit better, you see a sign for camping but no campsite name, if you miss the turn just keep going there’s another turn at the bottom of the hill, also not named.

We were there a bit before and for 3 weeks of the level 4 lockdown. We found the kitchen and shower facilities fine when they were open but what really set this park apart is the way they handled the shutdown. The rate was reduced to account for the closed facilities and the hosts did many things to make life more pleasant. These included finding a legal way to provide access to a washer, supplying little things like toilet chemicals, and even loaning us a sharpener for our kitchen knives. It's difficult to imagine a better park to be stuck in.

Not the facilites and playground you are used to for a top 10 but ok. Do not pay extra for a harbour view site as the view is not much better but the sites are tiny compared to the standard ones.
Really nice campsite, bit cramped. Nice facilities. The showers were hot, very nice and good'n free! Toilets are clean and good. Cool park, nice people awesome trampoline:)!!! Path down to town. Nice place, food stores. Bars, cafe and fish and chips. You can run on a big oval and walk down the jetty or on the beach. I would recommend this a lot!!;-]!!!!!!
Best camp site for us in NZ. Very friendly staff, beautiful view over the bay, clean facilities and the usual high standard of services of the Top 10 camp sites in the whole country. Akaroa is such a beautiful place to stay, we felt in love with it. Highly recommended.
Lots of facilities that are well looked after. We had a stunning view over the harbour, a great first night of our trip!
Nice place, clean facilities and good playground for the kids. Great views. Steep walking trail down to the town. Sites not very level though and weird showers that had so much pressure they almost hurt. The kids were not tall enough to reach the tap either as they were just below the nozzle. Otherwise pretty good.
Very nice little camp ground which was well maintained and had everything you could ask for. Good clean facilities and very friendly staff.
