Rafted the Shotover River.
Interesting place - an old gold mining river. A great experience. Safe, good service and very good guides. Worth doing.

Museum of New Zealand
This is one place that all travellers to NZ should see.
It's FREE and one of the best museums I have been to. Very interesting and well done.

Rings Scenic Tours
There is not much to see apart from a few hills as all the set has been taken out.
The tour is saved by the entertaining guide who has plenty of great stories about the movie and Peter Jackson. It turned out better than I expected it would be.
