Arrived fairly late to a big spacious lakeside park. No faciliies, a bit breezy but they allow dogs and its free. Just over an hour away from the ferry terminals

We loved this spot. Plenty of room and lovely view of the lake and the ranges. Nice big trees at the end of the park. We never write dumb reviews about toils as you are supposed to be self contained. We recommend this place as a good first stop out of Wellington if you travel slow like us.

A very beautiful camping spot right on the lake. Loads of space, all pretty flat and quiet when we stayed- around 10 other campers but such a huge site we weren't cramped in. Two drop loos were very clean and had toilet paper! Also had a good covered space for eating/preparing food and plenty of rubbish bins. No water or dump station, but not a problem if you come prepared! Would definitely stay here again.
Great free spot. Nice view of lake. Went there at night after taking a late ferry which was exhausting in the dark but ok. Plenty of space.

Great spot with plenty of space on lake edge. Can be windy. Spoiled by numerous trail bikers camping at site.

We loved this spot. Arrived in the dark but managed to find plenty of options on flat land. Woke up to stunning views of the lake and wetlands. We didn't check out the toilets but drove around to see we had an option of parking near these as well as a covered area with a large table. We will return here and look forward to experiencing it in the summer months for some boating.
Great spot to stopover
Just lacking cycle or walking activities
Amazing camping spot with a fantastic view! Only 2 other campervans there when we stayed. Long drops weren't the best I've seen but at least there is a toilet. So glad we camped here as it was one of the most peaceful places we stayed.

It is an amazingly beautiful spot with lots of space. There are two dump toilets which are fine and quite new but nowhere to wash your hands except for the lake. There are lots of flies around there which is a bit annoying. Apart from that it is absolutely beautiful and has amazing views on the lake and at the mountains.
quiet and isolated, excellent site, not too far from ferry terminal in Wellington
Great spot by the lake. Right by a dairy farm. Extremely windy. Quite smelly because of the cows. Probably better on a less windy day. Drop toilet clean.
Lovely place, the night we stayed was clear sky and stars everywhere, harsh frost in morning but beautiful place thank you South Wairarapa District Council!
