New Zealand's Most Sensational Journey

Through a combination of exciting jet boating, informative guided walk and 4WD safari vehicle, the Wilderness Safari allows you to discover and explore every aspect of the magnificent Dart River Valley and the spectacular 'World Heritage Area' scenery of Mt Aspiring National Park.

Experience the excitement of a thrilling jet boat journey through the Dart’s ever-changing braided river system where you’ll be amazed by our Jet Boat’s capabilities and awed by your surroundings of breathtaking snow-capped mountains, ancient native forest, waterfalls, and glacial valleys frozen in time.

Our knowledgeable guides will take you on an informative guided walk through ancient native Beech forest where you'll learn about the unique flora and fauna of this area.

You‘ll also journey by 4WD safari vehicle along a back-country route, while hearing stories about the surrounds and stopping to view spectacular scenery that has formed the epic backdrop for many international movies, including ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

Great experience. They split all guests into 2 groups. One starts with the bus trip through the off road to Paradise and the Lord of the Rings filming locations and then the Forest Road to finish with a jet boat ride. We did this and think it is the best to finish with the most exciting part. But if you do not get the choice, everything is great especially if you have sun during the day and if it rained a few days before as it makes the river more fun and interesting.

Bought as a present and a fantastic experience. All the employees were fantastic and made it an incredible afternoon. Lovely to see and hear how proud they are of their country.

Good service with raincoats and warm capes. Very expensive. We missed coffee and tea after the trip. Guides and bus driver are very enthusiastic.

It was a guided tour first transfer from Queenstown to Glenorchy, then 4WD bus to Paradise Valley and movie locations. After that a tiny walk through Beech Forest (too short), then an awesome jetboat ride on Dart River with Gavin!!!
