Experience the excitement of a thrilling jet boat journey through the Dart’s ever-changing braided river system where you’ll be amazed by our Jet Boat’s capabilities and awed by your surroundings of breathtaking snow-capped mountains, ancient native forest, waterfalls, and glacial valleys frozen in time.
Our knowledgeable guides will take you on an informative guided walk through ancient native Beech forest where you'll learn about the unique flora and fauna of this area.
You‘ll also journey by 4WD safari vehicle along a back-country route, while hearing stories about the surrounds and stopping to view spectacular scenery that has formed the epic backdrop for many international movies, including ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

Great experience.
They split all guests into 2 groups. One starts with the bus trip through the off road to Paradise and the Lord of the Rings filming locations and then the Forest Road to finish with a jet boat ride. We did this and think it is the best to finish with the most exciting part. But if you do not get the choice, everything is great especially if you have sun during the day and if it rained a few days before as it makes the river more fun and interesting.

It was a guided tour first transfer from Queenstown to Glenorchy, then 4WD bus to Paradise Valley and movie locations.
After that a tiny walk through Beech Forest (too short), then an awesome jetboat ride on Dart River with Gavin!!!

Let me set the scene - 17 people and it's my 50th.I'm a Kiwi living in Oz and so two thirds of the people who attended came from Australia .
As a thank you to all my friends I decided to book this trip - a wee taste of NZ to highlight our breathtaking scenery and then a bit of excitement thrown in for the thrill seeking friends by going on the jet boat trip. Let me set you straight - I freakin hate speed!!!! Anyhoo I decided to push my boundaries. I knew prior to booking that there were people on the trip that may not have felt comfortable doing a jet boat trip but also knew I was a sooky-la-la and therefore might think "oh, okay, if she is going to do this, then so can I" Matt, our driver, who all the girls were drooling over but I did not actually register until the end of the trip (hmmm, does that what the meaning of "save the best for last" means!!) was absolutely fantastic. Bloody nice guy, knew his job and just got on with it! Felt really safe and loved the whole experience. So to all of you out there feeling a little bit of trepidation...if this little Kiwi chick can do it, believe me, so can you!!! The proof was in the pudding - my friends came up and said that they had a ball!! I need to say a big THANK YOU to all the people at Dart River - from the receptionists to the bus driver to the boat driver to the girls at the desk - you are what makes a great experience even better!!

The actual jet boat was fun but there was nothing personal about the experience.
You have one guy pick you up, another drive you to the boat and yet another steer the boat. The group is quite large and there were people ranging from those wearing hiking boots to high heals. The take the cheesy photos which they sell for $45. Wouldn't recommend for the price.
