  • What a great spot , they should up the donation to $10 and it would still be an absolute bargain.

Peaceful , facilities for the price are great including if needed powered places. Lots of room. Thank you Te Kauwhata community

  • Nice location.

Clean toilets and a sink where you can wash your dishes. There were also powered sites

  • I stayed there last night.

Its a big parking space. Very quiet and relaxed. The facilities was clean and well looked after. Where you stay there, please donate you $5 its all worth if.

  • For a free campsite, it was great!

Felt safe, it was clean, plenty of spaces when we arrived. It is basic, but for what it is, very nice - and a nice view of the lake!

  • After finding nothing open near Auckland last at night this was a life saver.

We did see powered sites. Waking to the sound of mooing cows was special. It’s a $5 on your honor cost. Please don’t forget to pay.

  • Great place to stay and have a good rest.

Plenty of space, clean toilets, a sink for washing dishes. New World is very close. We had an awesome time

  • Stayed on a weeknight and it got very busy around 6pm but plenty of space for everyone.

There's a $5 fee but the facilities were well kept - there's toilets and big washing up sink. Some spots have a nice view of the lake a little way away.

  • Just a parking, nothing very nice, toilets ok

  • Stayed here on a week night.

Nice quiet rugby club parking lot with clean flushing toilets situated up a hill and out of sight, plenty of park spaces, a couple of power points to plug into (first in first serve) and greenery on either side, can see a lake in the distance on one side.

  • Someone on Rankers review said there is no black water dump, when in fact it is for grey and black.

    Very misleading.

Please pay your $5 night, especially if you used power.

  • Quiet spot with good cell reception.

Bathrooms were nice and clean (cold water only). Lots of spots but not many for larger RVs. Was not full so could park it over two spots later in the night.

  • Make sure you follow the directions on the rankers info and don’t just put in the name.

Has toilets which is always great, rather busy but personally that’s a bit of a comfort.

  • Pulled in about 5pm on a Saturday to try to get settled before dark, but the lot was entirely full due to a rugby game going on.

I would recommend pulling in after 7pm on weekends. There was lots of noise through the night such as drag racing and music blasting. Quiet morning though. Probably much chiller on weekdays. As far as a parking lot with access to water and toilets, it’s pretty solid. I did feel safe as a woman traveling alone. Lots of other travelers around even in shoulder season but no shortage of space.

  • Power available, dump station and water all for $5!

Facilities were clean and even provided dishwashing soap, but that might have been left by camper, because it wasn't there when we were there the second time. On the edge of the rugby field.

  • Awesome Spot!

Nice clean toilets, sink with soap for dishwashing and plenty of space for vehicles. Quite busy with campers but silent. You can leave a 5$ donation for maintainance of the Spot. Totally recommend that one!

  • Pros: within a hour of AKL, only $5 donation.

Cons: The dump station has GREY WATER ONLY (no black water dump). So many mosquitoes which cleverly were able to sneak into tiny gaps in our door/window seals. there was a big community function that went til about 10 pm and people stayed around talking outside our van until 11 something. Saw multiple dead cockroaches in the bathroom.

  • Site is definitely open now.

Quiet little spot with quite a few other campers but plenty of room for everyone. Not a scenic stop but there’s a toilet and the outdoor sink was useful for dishes.
