Our experience with CamperCo was excellent and we have nothing to complain about! Starting with the booking, the communication with the guys was easy and nice and they were so helpful and tried to realize all our wishes and ideas. When we arrived in NZ, we were picked up from the airport without any problems and immediately felt comfortable. Ross took a lot of time to explain the van in detail to us as camper newcomers. He also took time to give us many tips about our route and to draw his recommendations on a map. The camper itself was very well equipped and we did not miss anything. Also the return was very easy and without problems. We had a great time and would definetely book there again at any time and can only recommend CamperCo!

We had a wonderful time in NZ and this was also thanks to Ross and Camperco. We rented the Hiace hitop camper. We were with two and this camper was perfect in size. A lot of storage and the bed was bigger than we thought it would be :-) The pots and pans and cutlery in the camper was of very high quality, and the camper in general was very clean. Ross was always available, so when we asked questions, we almost immediately got answers and the help we needed. We would recommend Camperco in a heartbeat!

We chose Camperco because they were not a huge corporate company where on previous occasions we experienced hidden costs(camp chairs & tables etc) particularly with very expensive excess insurance eg we had already bought our own excess insurance but were given the hard sell to buy theirs as well.
Camperco offer a very good value excess insurance, particularly if the hire is for a long period of time .
We wanted cover that included driving on unsurfaced roads which very few companies allow, Camperco do this . Their vans do not have their logo painted on it so you are not a advertising board all the time. This also means that you get more respect from other drivers as they assume that you are a Kiwi.
The van was well equipped, and in generally good condition. We did experience a couple of minor problems, but these were sorted in super swift time, with minimal disruption to our holiday. Ross dealt with our queries quickly and was very helpful. All in all a great experience, and we have no hesitation in recomending them.

Ross was very helpful and was readily available to help with any of our needs. He picked us up at our hotel and returned us there as well. Communication was great and there were no hidden charges.
The campervan itself was older, but functional. If we had to do it over, we would opt for a newer and larger van, as when the couch was made into a bed, there was only room for one person to stand in the “kitchen” area. During our trip, it was quite rainy so we had to spend more time in the campervan than we expected. Also, some of the nights were quite cold, and there was no heater - something for future campers to keep in mind!

The bed was comfortable and we had a thick blanket, so it was never too cold during the night. The car went well during the whole time and there was enough space for our stuff (also under the bed). The staff was always friendly and very helpful. I would definitely rent a van from camperco again!

We highly recommend CamperCo!!!

We spent the past two months touring New Zealand with a campervan from CamperCo and LOVED it! :) Good size campervan with all the equipment you need, comfortable bed, large fridge to stock up on food and we liked the fact you can cook inside because on a windy and wet day it's just a bit more comfortable ;)

Interaction with CamperCo was great! We had a few questions before booking and the team was always available. Full price transparency, pick up and drop off was super easy and throughout the trip Ross was our contact person. We had one minor issue with the van and we got immediate help. Thanks Ross! :)

Our last days of the trip were heavily impacted by the corona virus situation. Ross helped us personally to find solutions and was really flexible. We know from other travellers that they did not all receive help from their rental companies.

If we visit New Zealand again we will book with CamperCo!

Trying to find the right Campervan is a gruelling task: what’s the best size; what’s going to be comfortable; what’s decent value... before long, you end up in a tailspin of confusion and doubt, and then feel altogether overwhelmed.
We were SO relieved we booked with CamperCo. Ross and his team are absolutely wonderful, personable and brilliant at their work.
Their vans are expertly tailored to maximise space - a high top so you can comfortably stand when changing or cooking, and yet compact enough when you want to park or steer those demanding curves on NZ’s epic scenic drives.
On top of this, the price - probably the best we found given the quality of the vehicles, which also included tent, picnic table and chairs, sat nav. For a little extra we also purchased the collision cover which gave us that extra confidence.
All round - a brilliant experience. When we return to NZ, we know who we’re booking with.

We really enjoyed our 3 week trip on the South Island in the Toyota Estima! The vehicle was the perfect size for the two of us with a comfy bed, lots of space underneath for our bags and a very good kitchen set up in the back. The smaller size of the vehicle was great for some of the twistier NZ roads and everything worked very well for the 3 weeks. It was also nice to have a vehicle without any branding and to rent from a friendly company with excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend and use again. Thank you!

Estima Sleepervan for 3 weeks in North Island in Feb.
Had a great time, the vehicle was comfortable to drive and everything worked. The roads can be challenging but the brakes, steering, suspension, tyres etc were all good. The main improvement that could be made would be a screened ventilation method as we found mozzies an issue, and it gets hot and stuffy if you shut everything tight. Would certainly use CamperCo again.

CamperCo was the perfect choice for our 10-day road trip around the South Island, we were 100% happy with this company and the folks that run it. We hired one of their Hiace Campervans, and its features were perfect for my husband and I - he's 6ft2in so we were hoping to find a smaller sized campervan that he could still stand up in and (somewhat) fit in the bed!
We also chose this van from CamperCo because it had a mini-fridge, interior kitchen (rather than out the back), and no logos/branding all over it. We could enjoy our trip without feeling like we really stuck out as tourists, and we could look out the back and enjoy the view. The size of the vehicle was really manageable for driving unfamiliar roads (we're from the US - opposite lane driving). The battery that runs the fridge (and also has 2 USB ports for charging) is solar-charged as well as from the engine, and it never failed us. The navigation system provided worked nearly flawlessly. The bed was not incredibly comfortable, but you're sleeping in a van...not in a real bed, so that comes with the territory and we didn't mind. I believe we had one of their slightly older outfitted vans, so I can only imagine the more updated ones would be really great! The folks at CamperCo have been fine-tuning the layout and features of these Hiace's, and have put careful thought into creating a simple and useful design.
We were happy to support a small company, run locally, rather than a big chain that would be impersonal. Also, on their website it shows that they donate towards CoolEarth, which combats rainforest deforestation, sweet! Ross was easy to communicate with, super friendly and helpful - he gave us some tips on places to go, and provided transport for us to and from their depot and the airport. The whole exchange was extraordinarily pleasant! You are in good hands with this company. We miss the van...! Thanks Ross and CamperCo!

Camperco offer a really personal service which I valued. I found both the collection & drop off very easy and Ross & his team were really helpful and answered any queries promptly - both before & during my trip. This was such fun! We had an amazing time in NZ and the sleepervan we hired from Camperco added beneficially to our experience. We chose Camperco largely because they were more flexible than many other companies in terms of where we could pick up the van and drop it off. (In our case, collect from Picton, drop off at Nelson). That Camperco appeared to be less expensive for the same thing was an added benefit. Not 10/10 because our car had a mind of its own when it came to whether the key fob would open or lock the doors (but we got used to that after a day or two). But a very strong 9/10 because: it was excellent value; probably shouldn't say but the car had a few scratches to start with so the company people were very relaxed about that (unlike some other hire companies where they search the car for every new mark - don't need that pressure on); Camperco's customer care was first class - an email to check we were doing OK, and a quick response on the one occasion we had to phone them (see key fob above); the car was very well equipped with crockery and cutlery etc; it was also very comfortable to drive, and being a car rather than a big mobile home less of a strain on the mountain roads; the bed was remarkably comfortable, and (I'm 6' 1") also larger than one would think. Remember to pull the front seats forward. Final point if anyone has bothered to read this far...what are two 63-year-olds doing in a sleepervan that doesn't really have an inside wc/shower? Easy - you don't need! NZ has loads and loads of cheap campsites with superb shower blocks. You're going to be staying in those places anyway, so use their facilities and save the extra money for sight-seeing. Overall, excellent value, would certainly use Camperco again.

Ross and staff were efficient and helpful. I would give it a 10 rating but for two suggestions: additional warm bedding for the shoulder season ( it gets chilly in the south Island into April), and chemical tabs for the porto potty (otherwise the provisioning was very good). In comparison, we rented a similar van from a big operator in Australia a few years ago, and it was much older and rundown, the bed cushions were saggy, and the provisioning was poor. Camperco in NZ comes out way ahead !!

Our trip was 4 weeks longer and felt like a good amount of time to spend exploring. At the time petrol was expensive but the van was fuel efficient and economical. There were no problems with the engine, kitchen, fridge or any of the facilities included. Our van also happened to have a tent awning thing which was awesome to protect from wind (but not too much wind) which was perfect for setting up the table and chairs and preparing dinner. The pickup was fairly smooth- I was a bit confused at first when we were taken to an industrial area with no office or anything- but it was all good! Ross was great at communicating and helping us with any issues we may have had along the way. Overall experience was fantastic and I would recommend renting from CamperCo! (Bonus: it was also more affordable than every most companies I looked at!)

Just got back from an amazing trip around NZ, our camper van which had a shower and toilet was perfect for our 6 week trip. We frequently freedom camped which worked out great with the solar panel to recharge the leisure battery. Ross and the Camperco team were really easy to communicate with and replied very quickly to any queries we had prior to and during the trip. There was a issue with the van we were due to pick up in Auckland prior to us starting our trip but we would never have known as the Camperco team had organised an alternative exact matching unit and fitted in with our plans to swop at a later date, if we could give a higher score than 10 for customer service we would have! We would definately recommend to use these guys for a first class service and great van with no advertising, we were approached by many other campers who complimented the great layout and accessible size. We're hoping to return and would not look ealsewhere for a van hire, thanks guys.

Very good company, 3rd seat in front (in the middle) only with limited safety belt (no 3 point guard), not so perfect for a child with a child seat
Once a small problem with the fridge, which was easily solved
Otherwise no problems on a long ride
The solar panel recharged the car so perfectly, that we often used non-powered sites on the camping grounds (which is cheaper and sometimes where the better places)
we also liked it to go round in a campervan without any advertisment printed on it

Nic, Ross and the camperco team were professionals and easy to communicate throughout the rental process. The campervan (med size) was great to travel and easy to get around with automatic transmission and good power for the steep hills. The interior is comfortable and the design was ok ( which new fleet will be upgraded to make it more practical) and easy to get around, even with a baby on board. They were very helpful and supplied a car seat so we didn’t need to bring ours.

There are no adds on the vehicle, which feels more like your own van than driving a billboard around NZ! We were able to pick up the van from Auckland, which was ideal for our trip plans. We then dropped it off in Christchurch and got a nice ride to the airport from the drop off area.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this company to everyone. The vehicle and service are top notch.

In the months before our roadtrip began, I had some questions. Ross replied very quick and very detailed and a couple of times he gave us really good advise. I really liked the personal touch of the emails he sent.
When we brought back the van, Ross gave us a free drive to our hotel and told us some things about Christchurch.

The booking of our Nissan campervan from Camperco was really easy. Nick kindly suggested two vans within our price range and was really responsive to our queries.

We were picked up from our apartments in Christchurch by Ross (really pleasant surprise). He showed us around the van and thoroughly explained how to empty the waste, fill the water etc. He also suggested a couple of freedom camping spots to check out. He was really friendly and relaxed.

We loved our campervan. It was fully equipped - cutlery, plates, pans, chopping board, mugs, kettle and even a cafetiere. It was also a great size - compact enough to drive around towns and easily park but large enough to allow us to stand up whilst cooking and convert the living area into a queen sized bed!

A massive pro to our van was the lack of advertising on the body of the vehicle. 95% of all other vans we saw were covered in logos, slogans and bright colours. It was nice being less obvious.

We would highly recommend Camperco.

Thank you - we have had the best holiday travelling around the South Island.

He was a pleasure to work with. The van was perfect for the trip! Lots of extras and comfy. We loved it and it was hard to say goodbye! The only problem we had with CamperCo was the pick up and drop off. We didn’t realize how small this company is and so they don’t have a physical space or presence in Auckland or Queenstown. They use a third party to pick up and return the van. That would be fine and we totally understand why due to cost, but the return in particular was very unprofessional. As long as you know this before hand it works just don’t be surprised. Totally worth the price though and I would rent from them again.

We had the campervan for two weeks and never had any issues. Campervan is modern and drives well, loved that you could stand inside the van unlike most of the other campervans around, there’s extra over head storage for large bags so they’re not on you’re bed throughout the day which makes a huge difference too. Rented the 2 person sleepervan from Christchurch for a 15 day road trip around the South Island of NZ and overall my experience was excellent.
Unfortunately I was informed a couple days before pick up that the manager of the company, Ross, would not be able to meet me and give me a tour of the van as promised so I had to settle for an explanation from one of the regular Airpark Canterbury employees who was not very familiar with the vehicle and its features. In Ross’ defense, my flight was landing around 7pm on a Saturday and it is fantastic that they even accommodate pick ups that late especially on a weekend. However I did send my flight information to him at least a month in advance and was never told this would be a problem.
Despite that, the sleepervan was well-equipped and fairly self explanatory so it didn’t matter too much in the end. Plus all of my email and phone correspondences with Ross were always very positive so I think this may have been an isolated situation. For instance, on one extremely rainy day on a flooded campsite, I got stuck in the mud and Ross was kind enough to offer to have his dad, who lived relatively nearby, to come and help me out. This gesture was above and beyond usual customer service and speaks volumes about the type of person behind this company.
Loved that they have thought of every touch with the sleepervan. There really wasn’t anything more that I needed that wasn’t already supplied. Was perfect size for one person. Definitely could manage two people but would be cozy.

Our first interaction was with their booking service, which was very good at answering back and accommodating our plans. Also it was great interacting with Ross while we were still planning our trip, he gave us information on the vehicle so that we could plan accordingly as far as technology. Upon arriving in NZ, they were ready to go 8:30am the morning of our booking and the gentleman servicing their vehicle in Queenstown picked us up and got everything squared away quickly but not rushed. We loved the van the whole time we had it, it was easy to drive, had most of the things we needed for the kitchen and extra stuff we didn't even end up using. The campervan was the toyota HiFly which was just enough room and was a comfy space for board games, sleeping and preparing dinner and lunches. The passenger seats were comfortable for long drives and had a good amount of storage up front for planning the next adventure. The one thing that I felt separated them from the rest as well was that the van is not labelled as a rental service, which I feel gave me a little more comfort in having my stuff in my vehicle when we did the Milford track or went on long hike, we looked like Locals. Dropping off the van was super easy and simple and Ross was available if we needed him but we luckily did not. Also I would say that the GPS provided was a huge plus as it really kept us on track for traveling ETAs and also kept us honest with the speed limit (huge help). Will definitely book again as the value was outstanding as well!

We had the smallest van (Toyota Estima i think) for about 30 days.

PROS:
- Cheapest fare we could find. We even got a bit cheaper by taking the van for a few days longer because of the discount that gives you.
- Support was very friendly and met all our requests in the planning process.
- Van was in good condition and basically had everything we needed.
- Someone hit our van on a car park and ran. No issues with the company whatsoever.
- No attempts to rip us off or charge anything extra later on.

CONS/SUGGESTIONS:
- Pickup (Auckland) seemed a bit scetchy as it was not their official site but some partner of theirs? Made me feel uncomfortable as a first-time-van-renter.
- Same with drop off (Queenstown airport). A guy who I almost couldn't understand told me to just place the car on a car park and leave the keys inside.
- The 12V fridge is a huge plus in my oppinion but you should include a long cable for use on powered sites. Otherwise it's useless. We brought our own cable and some adapters to power the fridge and charge devices.

Why I would choose a bigger van next time:
- Too cramped for such a long time
- The bed was not too comfortable as it consited of individual pillows (we never used the "seating area configuration" anyway). These pillows were not thick enough and kept sliding apart.

All in all the van was a really nice part of our journey and considering the price a really good deal. A bit of improvisation here and there and you can make it feel like home :)

A bit late writing this review but I’ve finally got round to it.. a few weeks ago my girlfriend and I rented a camper for 8days to travel the South Island until we got to queenstown. As we booked last minute we were advised the te camper we would be getting was actually the oldest one they had and not to expect anything fancy. Once we picked the van up in Nelson we were surprised at just how good of a condition the van was in. It may have been old but it had everything we needed and we didn’t want anything different. It actually exceeded our expectations and we didn’t want to give it back. If anyone is travelling I would definitely recommend using these guys. (And maybe even ask for the oldest van they have, we named her Nancy and if the van was for sale we 100% would of bought it!) the guy we dealt with was called Ross, he really sorted us out with a good deal and checked in to see how we were getting on. Pick-up scheduled for 10 am, van not where it should have been, when found was NOT READY. No towels, no tea towels, no broom ( bought these out of our own pocket, lost receipts)bed linen NOT sealed in plastic (was it fresh?), handoff very cavalierly done, no office space or any other permanent site (???). Christchurch was behind us when we found the tank was just about empty! Unforgivable considering the dire consequences threatened if it's not returned full! When we called were told that turn-around had been rushed; why? Booked last JUNE, why was it not returned to the depot sooner? The money for that first fill-up was immediately returned, no problem there, but this is not something you expect of a rental company! The inside of the van was reasonably clean, not so the outside. Mechanically the van was in good shape; really liked the solar panel mounted on the roof, stove and fridge worked well. We had that van for 45 days and it never let us down. There is no depot in Auckland either; the company looking after this aspect - Euro Camper - inspected and signed off, but do they really care about the little things that didn't work? We found it somewhat strange that even a small company wouldn't have a permanent location with at least one dedicated staff member! Ross did remind everyone of the census that was held and was generally helpful in case of questions but you just couldn't shake the feeling that things had been done in a rush and therefore left you wondering whether they had been done right. We are not looking to get anyone in trouble but the administrative side -for lack of a better word - of CamperCo leaves a lot to be desired. Whether our experience was a one-off or happens regularly is beside the point, customers place their trust in a company and deserve the time it takes to get them safely on the road!

Camperco responds:

Thanks for hiring with us and thanks for your feedback which we welcome - good or otherwise. It seems the van went well, had everything onboard that is supposed to be there, and we were there when you needed us to answer any questions, so that's great!
We are a small NZ owned and operated company. We don't have dedicated sign written depots which allows us to keep our prices very competitive - in all our years of operation we have not had anyone point this out as a negative. In Christchurch you'll meet me, in Picton you'll meet Mike, in Nelson you'll meet Alan. In Queenstown & Auckland we (along with a few other camper hire companies) use agents as this is the only way we can affordably offer those locations. If a dedicated sign written depot with uniformed staff is important to you then a smaller company is not the right fit.
We picked you up from your accommodation in town and drove you directly to your van. It was a tight turn-around, and the guys still had 10 minutes of work to do to get it fully ready. On the rare occasion a van isn't quite ready, we would rather the customer wait a short time than to rush & send out a van that isn't fully ready. When you left your van was fully clean, safe and ready to go. We don't supply towels in that model as there is no shower, as per the list of inclusions on our website when you book. Yes the linen was fresh and clean. No, it wasn't sealed in plastic as this is not industry practice and is environmentally unfriendly.
As mentioned we welcome and value all feedback so thanks for taking the time to write a review. We've looked back over our correspondence. Aside from a 10 minute wait at pick-up, and the tank not being full (immediately fixed) I'm really not quite sure what else we did wrong. Maybe a smaller style company is just not for you, and that's OK, everyone is different. Next time you may like to try one of the bigger commercial companies instead. It was really nice to meet you and all the very best, Ross.

The guys at CamperCo are great - they are super knowledgeable and quick to respond. The booking process was so simple. The van itself was spotlessly clean, the conversion was very well thought out and it had everything we could possibly need for our time on the road. We particularly liked that the van was not branded, (makes a change from seeing those bright green and purple vehicles!!) and as a result we felt less likely to be targets of tourist theft. They are really friendly people and it’s a hassle-free process to book with them, not unlike GoRentals for example where you buy an insurance that covers only one damage to the vehicle… Their prices are really fair!
Our camper van was not the newest one and a few minor improvements could enhance the experience (better curtains, that sort of things), but overall we enjoyed it. It’s well equipped with accessories well thought (especially the indispensable converter to charge devices in the car (it was running non-stop in the car with our cameras). The bed is comfortable, just a little small in length if you are 1,88 m like me or above. We slept 3 weeks in it. The interior table is a little small but it was sunny almost all the time so we ate outside most of the time.
We also tried the larger model, but that was too tough for us to drive, too big. But the small camper van is really easy to drive. I drive really rarely though.
Having a self-contained camper van is a big plus in this country, don’t make the mistake to choose a vehicle without that, you’ll lose A LOT of potential places to sleep. Even begin self-contained, it was already difficult sometimes to find a free camping area…

It was a pleasure dealing with Camper Co. Ross was 100% helpful, with excellent communication through the whole process and went out of his way to courier us some items we had left in the van at the end of our trip. We were so sad to drop offour Hiace Camper at the end of our trip we forgot to check a drawer!! The van was equipped with everything we needed and designed well for a very comfortable camping experience. The camper looked great and it was wonderful to be driving around in a logo free vehicle. Will be in contact for our next camper van holiday - we had a fantastic time. Thanks Camper Co. and special thanks to Ross.

From the offset the customer service was exceptional. Both Ross and Nick have offered quick responses to questions/ quieres we had. They have made things very simple and are great to deal with.

We picked up the Fiat Ducato in Auckland and had a great experience there. The guy (forgot his name) who showed us the camper and explained how everything worked was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Even telling us where the closest supermarket was to stock up with food etc.

The only negative we had with the camper was...
•The fridge was temperamental and sometimes wasn’t that cold, think this was due to the heat so we had some food that didn’t last as long as it should of. So next time we would buy less food just more often. Just a tip for others :)

Otherwise the camper was fully equipped and easy to use. We were given two bed sheets which was really handy. No towels were provided so make sure you bring your own towels.

Would highly recommend Camper Co to anyone looking for a vehicle to tour around NZ. We’ve had such an amazing honeymoon! Thanks guys.

Having left it rather late in the game to find a campervan for our tour of the South Island, I found Rankers and Nick at CamperCo got in touch with exactly what we needed, with a little adjustment to our dates.
The booking system was easy and pretty relaxed.
Pick up was easy in Christchurch and after a quick intro to the van, a Fiat Ducato (manual - perfect), we were off. It would have been helpful to have info like the operation of the hot water in a booklet on board, some things can be easily forgotten and I later discovered after a cold shower that one switch needed to go on before the other.
Other than that, everything we needed was included, no hidden costs.
We had a few problems with the van - one of our own causing but this didn't affect our trip and was resolved quickly on return. The chip to the windscreen was fixed within hours after we contacted CampeCo and were directed to the nearest repair centre. We had an issue with the brakes, so were towed to a garage, part located as quickly as was possible (unfortunately this took two days as the wrong part was initially sent -the fault of the distributor not CamperCo or the garage). Nick was aware we were trying to get to the West to meet a mate for a tramp (hike) for his birthday and spent time locating a part closer to us than the North Island for us. This got us on the way and we made our rendez vous.
Overall a great experience, great company to deal with, sympathetic and reactive when required despite the number of times we'd to contact them, which we're sure was more than most customers. They reimbursed the lost days when the van was off the road too with no hassle.
I'd love to return and see the North Island and I'd seriously consider a Picton pick up and drop off from CamperCo for that.
Thank you guys for great service.

We picked up the van in Picton and was met by Mike, who gave us a thorough rundown of the vehicle and some helpful travel tips on places to visit. It had everything we needed and a pretty comfy bed. The temp dropped down a few nights, but we were more than warm enough in our little "home"

We dropped off at Christchurch and had no issues throughout our holiday.

Everything was flawless with our experience with Camperco. We picked our Estima up and dropped off at Nelson.

The van was clean, tidy and well-equipped - we especially appreciated the solar-powered lantern!! Great touch. There is also so much room at the front and between the driver and passenger seats which is so handy to have. The bed was comfortable and everything was easy to set up. It was also great that the van was a self-contained vehicle meaning you can freedom camp; not all campervan rentals think of this.

Everyone we dealt with (Nick, Ross, Alan, Phil) were all legends; easy to speak to and very friendly and helpful.

The instructions were comprehensive from the get-go including where to fill up and empty our grey water tank on the return.

We will definitely be using Camperco again next time we're in NZ.

Very friendly people. Propane hose leaked when we first picked up van. We picked up another hose and were compensated by camperco for the inconvenience. I liked that the van had no advertising like the juicy vans so it was more stealthy and I felt my valuables were more secure that way. It didnt scream tourist. It was more affordable than the 3x priced vans with shower and room to stand and cook inside... not as cozy on rainy days, but tolerable for a short vacation. Curtains could have been more professionally hung. They fell down numerous times and were only held in by a screw to the interior material. One touch and the screw would rip right out and then went all the rest. Would have been better with a fastener like a drywall plastic anchor. Also, the cooler provided, that hooked up to the car, did not ever cool down to a proper food holding temperature. Thus we had to buy ice for the whole trip every couple of days, dump out water, shuffle food in and out adding to the hassle.

Booking Process:

We rented a Camper from CamperCo in February this year. The booking process itself is informal but easy. Nick and Ross are very nice people and helped us a lot. They answered quickly to all our questions, which gave us a good feeling.
Remarkable about the booking process is that you get an all-inclusive price (taxes, satnav, chairs, etc), so that you don't have to expect extra costs (apart from fuel, of course).

PickUp:
We were picked up at our hotel in Christchurch by Ross. He is a very friendly guy and we had some nice conservation. The drive to the airport took around 20 minutes, where we met our camper for the first time. He showed us around and explained everything we need to know about the Camper. The whole process took around 30 minutes and we had a lot of fun.

The Camper:
We got a 2013 Ford Transit Campervan. As promised the interior was refurbished recently, so that it was in a clean and good condition. Compared to other campers the interior is not very luxury, but absolutely sufficient. It offers a big stowage room and has a large bed and the shower is slightly bigger than in other campers we had a look at. It even has a solar panel on the roof, so that were almost independent from expensive powered campsites (saved us a lot of money!). It runs on diesel, which makes a big difference when refueling.
I would definitely say that the camper is well worth its money.

The DopOff:
We returned the Camper to Nick right in front of the departure hall of Auckland Airport. He had a short look at it and asked us if we encountered any problems.

All in all we would choose CamperCo again, the next time we come to New Zealand. We had no reason to complain and were happy :)
Nick and Ross, we hope to see you again soon!

We saw a lot of other camper travlers on the road.. but we also found out - that renting through Camper Co is a very smooth and flexible company. We were driving in a Ford Transit - re build for the purpose. It was VERY economical. We only fuel 2x in 12 Days...

a quite functional, comfortable, and comprehensively furnished vehicle for a very competitive price. if you pick up in Queenstown you may not get as much instruction in the finer points of the vehicle's features, however as one-way options are limited, it's worth figuing out a couple things if you are committed to a one-way trip northwards. we actually found the mystery added to our adventure.

we would rent from them again, and only deducted one point for the aforementioned instruction deficit plus it being low on oil at pickup (easy fix by ourselves).

We were recommended to use CamperCo by some friends who had rented with them previously. We rented a Toyota Hiace in March/April for a 21 day trip round both islands.

Friendly and quick service from the start, both Nick and Ross answered all our queries and got everything sorted for us. Another CamperCo guy picked us up from Auckland airport within 10 mins of us arriving and took us to get our van. It was an older van and had seen a lot of miles but that was made clear when we booked and it was clean and completely reliable, didn't give us any problems and was much better on fuel economy than we had thought.

The van came with everything we needed for our trip, the bed was comfy and easy to put together.

Drop off was easy to Queenstown and what you would expect (give it back clean and with a full fuel tank) and we were given a ride to the airport.

Would recommend for a laid back but professional and friendly approach to travelling around NZ. Everything was hassle free and Ross went out of his way for us on our initial enquiry. Would definitely use again. Thanks very much for a great experience.

We had a great NZ experience with Camperco. I've searched for a long time for a good deal online, finally landed on Rankers, and contacted 5 companies scoring >90% which weren't the obvious large businesses with high prices. Camperco seems to be a small operation with very good deals for their campers; the trade-off is that the campers are a bit more old. However, it was fine and seemed no less comfortable than brand new ones. We've traveled for 7 weeks in the camper and had no major issues; it ran very smooth. I'm 1.98 tall and the configuration of the van is such that my feet could stick out of the bed.

The communication with Camperco and Nick was excellent, they were very clear and responsive in the communication.

Definitely a recommendation for people looking for a good deal and a good campervan!

Our trip was basically one month in March of 2017. My dealings were mostly with Ross (a Co-owner I believe). This is a small professional and honest campervan rental company. They went out of their way to assist me with my trip. I had a box of New Zealand related items (hiking boots, etc) shipped to them prior to my arrival and Ross was willing to receive the items and even store them in his personal residence. While we were traveling in the campervan, Ross stored our luggage also. They have a one price type of arrangement. When you get a quote, then that is the price, no add on's. Very good for me. Price was not the cheapest, and also not the most expensive. Sort of in the middle. You get what you pay for. Campervan was 5 years old (that is pretty new), and had the living portion retrofitted 3 years prior. So the whole campervan drove and functioned well. I was really really happy with the campervan we got. It simply worked as advertised and it worked well. No problems. Campervan was diesel so fuel was much cheaper. No mileage charges. Pick-up and return of campervan was simple and quick. I usually don't take the time to review things unless they are either really good or really bad. Camperco is really good. If you use them then you can focus on the vacation you planning and spend less time and energy on campervan type things.

Camperco was a great company to deal with, quick to communicate and very helpful. The only criticism I would have is that the camper could have been a little better equipped - for example - only 3 knives, forks, plates, cups etc - only 2 small pots and 1 comforter that wasn't overly warm. No towels and only 2 older t-towels. Would have been nice to have a few essentials (dish soap, cooking oil). Not a big deal, but a few little changes would go a long way to improve the rental.

We rented the Toyata Estima campervan from the first of December until the 15th of January. We had a wonderfull time travelling through New Zealand.
The campervan was very nice, the bed was comfortable and it was easy getting it from a small seating area to a bed. We are 1.78 m and 1.85m and had enough space to sleep comfortable in the car..
The kitchen gear was also very good, it included everything we needed. The gascooker is easy and good, as was the watertap.
The campervan is self contained, this means you can camp on a lot more campsites than non-selfcontained vans. So that was very nice during our trip.
Nick and Ross from camperco are always very friendly and helpfull. We never had any problemes with the van it was just everything you want.
What also was great about the camperco, especially compared to other campervan companies, was the rental price! It is cheaper than most companies, however the quality is still very good.

My wife and I visited NZ from Australia and had an amazing one month holiday exploring both islands. During this time we had a one of Camperco's ford transit vans for 8 nights. We initially decided to go through CamperCo as they offered a very competitive price, we were able to have different pick up and drop off points, have a blank van with no big advertising or 'artwork' and we like to support 'the little guys where possible'. These guys did not disappoint! All communication during booking, throughout trip and after drop off were amazing. Nick and Ross have a great mix of laid back nature with professionalism and nothing was too much trouble. We picked up our ford transit from Picton, we're met at the ferry, Mike was an awesome guy but unfortunately not very familiar with this vehicle as they had just expanded their range. Due to this we had to find out some features through trial and error but both Mike and the boys were very apologetic, no big dramas for us. The van had a few km's on it (expected) but our fitout was brand new. Everything worked well, was a great size van for 2 adults, no problems whatsoever. We had a couple small breakages to crockery (which we fully expected to pay for) however when we informed them on drop off, they were happy to wear the cost.

Did the company live up to expectations and communicate well? DEFINITELY
Was the van in good working order with good features and fitout? DEFINITELY
Was the van priced well, pick up and transfer easy? DEFINITELY
Would we recommend CamperCo to others and would we use them again? DEFINITELY

Thanks again guys, we hope to visit NZ again and when we do, we will 100% use your company again! Good luck to you all!

I was desperate to hire a Camper for my trip to NZ in Dec16 but was having great difficulty finding a company that had any availability for the period I wished to travel. Fortunately I was pointed in the direction of the RANKERS site and shortly after submitting my online request I was contacted by CAMPERCO telling me that they could help. I was impressed from the outset, they had a wilco, friendly and easy going nature that I was later to discover is typical Kiwi.......the whole booking process was easy and simple to follow and understand. Any questions I had were answered extremely quickly ether by e-mail or in person over the phone....nothing seemed too much trouble. Nick was very helpful and responsive both before and during our 9 day trip and the van was spacious, feeling modern, clean and well equiped inside. The only thing we would add to the kitchen is a couple of wine glasses!!

The fact that we were able to pick up at Nelson and drop off and Picton was particularly helpful as this allowed us to catch the ferry from Picton on foot with no hassle. In the end it was not practical to repair but we felt satisfied that sufficient efforts were made. Van was about 2012, a bit used but mechannically no problems with it for the 2000+km trip round south island. Very Reliable! Interior fittings were brand new as it had just be refitted. Looked like a new campervan internally! No flash logos outside too to show it was a rental vehicle- Plus point there!

Dealt with nick, gave me an all in price with no hidden extras, 0 excess, free child seat and discounts due to our long booking and waived off my relocation charge. Much better than other companies with all the hidden charges. How awesome is that!

Only gripe i had was the frying pan included was warped and unusable , ended up buying a new one. Also wasn't familar with the systems on the first day so no hot showers :( Would have been better if the car came with a quick start manual on how the systems work. Once we started exploring it was OK. Everything worked internally as it should. Really enjoyed ourselves with this camper as its not too big so we could go for the a bit more off the track drives.

Amazing way to see New Zealand. We hired the Estima camper from CamperCo. This was a 'beaut machine that had all the necessities required for a couple on an 8 day trip around the South Island. The team at CamperCo were great to deal with - from our first contact through to picking up the vehicle and dropping it off. The Estima handled the drive through the mountains without skipping a beat. On pick up Ross showed us through the Camper and gave us some tips for driving/camping in NZ, then sent us on our way. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone thinking about hiring a camper van to travel around NZ fuss free - Pros:
No advertising stickers on vehicles,
Dark tinted windows,
Ability to be self contained
12v:240 inverter - handy addition for charging laptops & e.c.t while on the road.
Easily contactable staff.

Cons:
8 days was not enough!

In planning a one month visit to New Zealand, we immediately went looking for a camper van to lease. Camperco's web site proved to be the best one among all of its competitors (easy navigation and lots of information). The entire package and price for a long term lease were also superior. Unfortunately, after making our reservation, we found that we cannot complete the trip. The staff were extremely friendly and understanding about our dilemma and quickly processed a refund. Should we be able to visit New Zealand next year, Camperco will be the first place we will go for a camper van rental. Nice people and a good deal!

We've been touring the NZ South Island in Feb-March for five weeks with one of Camperco's Estimas. The car was fine and had everything we needed (well ok, except a knife was missing).
Booking from Germany and pick-up from / drop-off to different locations was perfectly smooth. Unfortunately we had a breakdown in the middle of nowhere between Queenstown and Te Anau. It was a quite rare defect so no one's to blame. However, after calling Nick we had a mechanic with us in just about an hour - on a late Friday afternoon! Yup - these guys are really caring for their customers a great deal. They helped us in having 5 amazing weeks in NZ - we'd pick them again! Thanks Ross, Nick, Mike etc. and sorry for being late with the review! ;-)

Um...just one more comment, some people may find this helpful: Before booking, I was wondering if the berth would be long enough for me (1.86m). It was! If you move the front seat all the way to the front and put some stuff behind it to support the foot end of the mattresses, I'd say you should be fine up 1.90m.

We have had the best 10 days in the south island with our rented camper van from CamperCo. We took the 2-seater Estima and really glad we did. The Estima was powerful, absolutely a delight to drive in the hilly Lindis Pass; made us really glad we didn't go with another company which provides less powerful vehicles, although cheaper. Honestly it was worth it.

The van was well equipped, and Ross was clear and fast on communication. There were small hick-ups here and there but it was no biggie. I have even recommended CamperCo to my friends. Will look into doing business again with you!

We rented the motorhome for 16 days and although the vehicle wasn't top modern in every aspect (which was well explained in the e-mail conversation with Ross), it was very reliable and we never had any major problems obstructing our travel plans. This was our first experience in any sort of camper and we hired the auto Estima van for close to three weeks in Feb and it met our expectations and then some! The set up was pretty much identical to the photos on the website, the only difference was that the stove wasn’t on a pull out shelf/platform. This wasn’t really a concern for us as there was a table included with the van hire. All the basics are included in the hire (cutlery, bowls, plates cups etc.).

The bed was really easy to set up and there was a good amount of storage space too. The internal height of the benches was just low enough for us to sit inside and use the dismountable table - so long as we weren’t sitting on the cushions, couldn’t quite sit upright w cushions! (We’re quite small - 5’0 and 5’4). However we only had to use it once or twice when it rained, other than we were outside using the table and chairs provided.

The van itself was in good condition and very clean. Easy to drive and small enough for the narrower country roads and with plenty of grunt (3.0L). There is only a small camperco sticker on the rear windscreen so it’s not as obvious as some other companies, so as not to stick out like a sore thumb.

The team running Camperco are also super friendly and helpful. Would definitely use them again and recommend to friends and family.

Camperco was very helpful, and they offered us a really excellent price on our rental - especially considering we picked up in Queenstown and dropped off in Nelson. The vehicle didn't have any major issues. It was older, had some funny rattles and clanks... but overall treated us well. It also got less than stellar gas mileage, but given what we paid for the rental it was fine. Remember that you drive on the left side of the road!

We chose to rent one of the camper vans from CamperCo because they were the only company that would accommodate a pickup in Queenstown and dropoff in Nelson without excess fees. Overall, the van worked well with our travel plans despite being quite old and tired. Our major complaint about our experience was that the pickup in Queenstown felt chaotic as if they weren't expecting us despite having confirmed several times before the trip via email. I don't know if this was because it was the day after Christmas or because we were picking up in Queenstown, but they drove us to the van that was in a random parking lot, but the sheets hadn't been washed so we had to wait for another guy, who came in on his day off with clean sheets and then was surprised to have to give us a tour of the van's features. He muddled through it but seemed unsure about most of it. We ultimately figured everything out on our own and were able to get everywhere we needed to. The van's interior was well thought out by the person who designed it and had plenty of storage despite being a smaller vehicle. The drop off went slightly better than the pickup, but was also disorganized since we thought we'd be able to drop off in downtown Nelson but at the last minute they changed it to the airport at a rental shop that also seemed surprised when we pulled up! They did reimburse us for the shuttle back to town less the paypal processing fees.

The email exchange with Ross (from CamperCo) answered all our questions and adding additional gadgets was no problem. The pick-up of the campervan was conveniently done from Nelson airport and was uncomplicated. Diana showed us everything and the van had all we needed. She was in addition extremely helpful for getting back a lost bag. The van did not let us down driving around the South Island (down the east and up the west coast). Our experience with CamperCo was exceptional. We had the campervan dropped off to us in Christchurch by Ross who was friendly, helpful and gave us his email and phone number for if there were any problems.

The campervan we hired was a 95 Estima which we managed to get an amazing deal on because it was an older model. Despite its age it was an incredibly reliable van which did not let us down over the 15 days we had it. The few problems we did run into were quickly resolved by Ross. One burner on our gas cooker did not work, while the other did not function well. We contacted Ross who immediately told us that we should buy a new one and that we'd be reimbursed. It was great to have such incredible customer service whilst on the road and knowing we had that made our trip a great deal more stress-free and enjoyable.

The Estima itself was comfortable to sleep in and had lots of space for our things. Camperco did a great job custom building the camper as we never found ourselves short on space or having to fish out stuff hidden away. All in all, we highly recommend Camperco. Their customer service is one of the best and their campers are reliable, comfy and extremely well maintained.

Decided to go with CamperCo after months of planning a solo NZ roadtrip. Pick-up was very easy from Chch airport. I met with Ross at the carpark and he showed me the ropes of the van, which was clean and ready to go. When I had trouble with the cassette adapter (need music for a NZ roadtrip!), Ross got in his car and guided me to a nearby store where he bought a new adapter for me to use during my trip around the South Island. Never had any problems with the van (Toyota Estima) and loved all of the different storage compartments. It was very easy to keep things organized, especially food in the back. Had a couple people stop by at campsites because they wanted to see how mine was set up for their own ideas. Only thing is that the "fridge" is kept cool only when the car/battery is running - so things warm up easily if the battery is off. Can't keep milk cold for long. Also - the Estima might not be enough space for two travellers with lots of stuff. If you're a minimalist, then go for it. Otherwise - GREAT experience. Inspired me to stay in NZ for another year with a working holiday visa and I would 100% rent from CamperCo again.

My partner and I hired our Campervan through CamperCo. My partner was a little skeptical at first (as he didn't realise that I had been researching to extreme to find the best van for the trip!). After a few emails back and forth with Nick (from CamperCo) we settled with a 3 Berth Hiace. We asked for a small heater as we are from Queensland-Australia and don't deal with the cold very well. The heater coped with the 11 day bashing it received with no dramas. We drove from Christchurch, down the west coast, then in towards Queenstown, then back up the middle through Mt Cook, then over to Akaroa, back to Christchurch. The van handled well, it's not a brand new vehicle so it had its small quirks. We did have a small issue with the radiator (we weren't entirely sure what it was at first- the light was coming on and off half way through the trip) we called Nick and left a message, not long after we received an email to say what it was and all the instructions to fix it. No other issues occurred after that point. The van was clean and tidy and Ross showed us all the bits and pieces when he dropped it off to our hotel, which was nice of him as usually you need to pick up from the airport. My partner and I would like to do North Island at some point and would totally use this company again without hesitation.

We had hired the Toyota Estima for 11 days to travel around the South Island. It was just my husband and I. We chose CamperCo mainly cause of the price factor. We knew the vehicle would not be as flash as other companies which claimed DVD, TV, etcetera and thank god we did not go with them. Not having that made the experience of camper vanning so much more epic. The vehicle was very stable and reliable. Ross from CamperCo even got us a free SIM card to use during our trip to the South Island. We did not have to use it though. The personalized hand written note for not being able to meet us in person as it was the Easter weekend speaks volumes for the team. The only reason I took one point off was because of the lack of charging points - we could either run the freezer box or charge our devices - this was a bit of an inconvenience to us. You could also blame that on our ignorance. The moon roof was another thing that made the experience of sleeping under the yellow kowhai trees the best ever. Thank you Ross and CamperCo. We will definitely be hiring from you soon.

When we arrived for the pick-up Ross was kind enough to give us driving lessons and gave out some pointers. We had issues about wanting to use the usb/power socket thingy and Ross was too kind loaning us his power inverter car adapter.

Our van was reliable and driving was surprisingly quite easy, we just had to mind the height and the length of the van and parking can be a little bit tricky. All in all we were more than satisfied with the van and it was our home for six days. I would definitely recommend hiring CamperCo’s Big Bertha and hope we will rent it again in the near future.

We hired a van for 10 days to travel in the south island and from all the people we asked around, Camperco seemed the best option (price/quality ratio). When we arrived in Picton, we got the warmest welcome and picked up from a member of Camperco team, Darryl.
The van was brilliant and very easy to drive (even for us who never drove on the left side of the road), very well equiped, nothing was missing! We had a few questions on a some technical aspects (not because something went wrong just because we are girls!) And Nick replied very quickly and efficiently all the time.
We even got dropped at the airport early in the morning when we dropped the van in Cristchurch.
We will definitly recommend Camperco to anyone who wants to enjoy NZ in a comfy van, for cheap and with the best service ever.

We hired a Hi-top Hiace from Camperco for 11 days in February ’14, and cannot recommend them highly enough. The van itself was great; simple, comfortable and easy to drive and use, but what really stands Camperco out is their customer service. The owners Nick and Ross say they are available to talk to 24/7 over the phone, and because we had an issue with our ferry crossing to the North Island, they totally proved this to be the case.

Due to bad weather, we were unable to get the ferry crossing we were after and so had to fly over instead. As we were in Blenheim when we found this out, at no extra cost to us Nick and Ross offered to pick up the van from Blenheim airport instead of from Picton as booked. We cannot imagine any of the larger companies offering this flexibility or customer service.

Everyone we dealt with at Camperco, Nick, Ross, Janelle (who dropped it off for us at Queenstown) and Darryl (who collected the van from us at Blenheim airport), were really helpful and full of proper Kiwi friendliness. Cheers to all!

We booked campervan Bertha with CamperCo for March 2014 and received an outstanding customer service from the minute we made the booking, including an offer of a included pick-up service from the train station upon our arrival.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip due to illness. Nick was exceptionally friendly, processed our cancellation immediately and found kind words for our disappointment.

We have been renting campers in Australia for the last five years and haven't had such good experience with any of the companies yet. It is great to see that New Zealand has alternatives to the bigger rental companies. We highly recommend Nick and his team.

We had an amazing 14 days travelling the South Island in the Hiatus we rented from CamperCo. As soon as I picked up the van in Picton and got a big hug from Darryl I knew I made the right choice with CamperCo. The van drove smoothly, was easy to maneauver, and very comfortable. Nick was super helpful and accomodating in making pickup/drop off arrangements, and the van had almost everything we needed, which I'll mention, but in no way detracted from the experience. Perhaps a flexible plastic cutting board and square plastic bin (like the size of the sink) to carry food/dishes to community kitchens at campgrounds would be nice, but a box works too :)

We had a slight issue with the backup battery charging system which didn't impact the van mechanically at all (only keeping the fridge cold) but Nick personally came to see if he could help and arrange repair quickly. While we waited he took out for coffree's and offered to take us paddling while we waited. That was awesome personal attention. The issue was resolved quickly and we were on our way.

I just can't say enough about how great the trip was and how great it was working with Nick and his team at CamperCo. They even shipped me an item I regrettfully left behind in the van... now that's service!

Rented the Estima campercar. Pretty good, not that spacious though but overall pretty good! The people were great to deal with, had some battery troubles during our drive down to the South Island but AA patched it up in no time. Wanted to jump start the car at first but the jump start cable was severed so that was a bit of a bummer. Driving in automatic was a breeze and I couldn't imagine driving manual with all the hills in New Zealand. I wish they had the Hiace hitop camper in automatic though, would've rented that instead. It was a great pleasure to be dealing with a small and flexible company that really understands how to treat their customers. We booked early and Nick was very helpful in explaining how everything would work. The real deal clincher was the trivial charge for a pickup in Picton - all the big companies wanted hundreds of $$$. The Hiace was compact, really easy to drive and quite economical. The setup was great and the thick long curtains were fantastic when there were outside lights. Plenty of storage space too. Would have been a 10 but the sound system wouldn't co-operate, Nick offered to get it fixed but we couldn't be bothered! The staff has been very friendly and helpful before and during the rental, by email, phone or text. This was our first time driving/using a camper van, and we got comprehensive explanations and advices when we picked up the vehicle in Picton.
We were very happy with the campervan, very clean and fully furnished, with comfy bed linen that kept us warm overnight. All the dishes you would need, and even extra towels to step on if your feet are wet when coming from outside.
We dropped off the camper van in Christchurch, which was very handy as we wanted to spend more time in the South, and got dropped off at the airport on time to catch our flight for Auckland.

We hired a Toyota Hiace from Camperco in January to travel round the south island. Before we got to NZ, we dealt with Nick and Haidee via email and they were both really helpful, answering all our questions and queries. We picked up the van in Picton, it was really clean with a full tank of petrol so no complaints there. We had an issue with the radio so had to call a few times to get help, Nick resolved the issue really quickly. We also had one other hiccup with the van battery which again, was sorted within a day, again, Nick was really helpful. We loved the van - it was a great size for two people and was a perfect run around, even the bed was surprisingly comfortable and for once on our travels, we had decent curtains!! We much preferred Camperco as a smaller more personal company to some of the bigger companies out there - would highly recommend them :)

Excellent, would definitely use again. The deal was so good we were half expecting no van to be there waiting for us!

The Toyota Hiace van was well laid out and has everything you need. Struggled a little up some of the hills but otherwise surprisingly sprightly, yet economical.

We only had two problems ( a noisy cooling fan on the fridge and dud cigarette lighter) but one phone call and it was sorted the next day.

Very friendly and helpful service throughout. Only improvement would have been an aux in on the stereo and more fly screens to enable more windows to open at night.

We like camping in tents every where but as it was May we decided to hire a camper and we have definitely been converted and are thinking about buying one ourselves! Note: much more detail and pictures in our blog: http://teammahoney.wordpress.com/2012/02/09/the-only-way-to-travel-in-new-zealand/

We loved CamperCo, for a few reasons.

1) The price was right. For way under $100 per night we got the van and the full insurance (often 40% more than the rental price). We also only had to pay $50 for a one way rental from Picton to Christchurch which can increase the price of other vans by hundreds of dollars.

2) they picked us up at our Ferry and let us drop off at our hotel in Christchurch. Small company = increased flexibility

3) The van was very new and reliable, much more so than some of the others we saw on the road

4) There is no branding on the van (like the purple and green painted jucy vans for example...) so your not flashing "hi! I'm a traveler with all my belongings inside!" and you don’t feel like a target for a break in every time you leave for a hike.

Also we were very happy with the size of our vehicle and concluded it was the perfect choice for two people. While it was a bit smaller than some of the other vans out there, it was nice to drive around town and through windy country roads in a normal sized vehicle rather than a big boat. Plus gas is expensive in NZ, so we appreciated the fuel economy of our model.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience! Grateful I made the decision to go with you, after some hair pulling last minute research on how best to explore the S. Island. Certainly the best value for money. You are so accommodating and considerate, allowing us to collect the van at 8am on Xmas day! The flexibility of not having to go all the way to Nelson but collect/drop off in Chch, otherwise quite a reasonable charge as well. The options with the van are limitless i.e. tent/power/no-power site, motel/hotel, wilderness camping, etc. Waking up by the beach, coffee at the lake, star gazing by van's doorstep in the alpine region (best new year's eve ever, esp with a shooting star). Van’s easy to manoeuvre. The heavy rains didn't deter us - my husband figured out how to set up your table inside! How else can you witness the sunny spots in stormy weather & dine in style? We couldn't stop thinking of various configuration of the van. The sunroof - wonderful as we fell asleep star gazing. The compact cooler practical, kept our milk, butter, deli and herbs fresh throughout the trip. We thought it was fuel efficient considering the distance we've driven. Pleasantly surprised how comfy the mattress was - compared with that of a new campervan model we rented recently. Well equipped with practical tips, all cooking utensils, solar light&shower, picnic blanket, awning (we never figured out how to use), comfy linen, picnic table (we also used as headboard for privacy) and chairs.
Aside from petrol and food, don't forget matches, cooking oil, cleaning stuff, sunblock and most importantly - insect repellant! May we also suggest a small brush and dustpan for cleaning and kettle (we survived with the pot though). Haidee, Nick and the rest of the CamperCo - thanks for giving travellers like us the novelty of true NZ roadtrip at a reasonable price. We definitely recommend your company. Keep up the good work and all the best this year and years to come.

The best part of it is .... its neither a van nor a car, i dont find it difficult to park at any hotel lobby.

CamperCo is a great company and were an absolute pleasure to rent from. During my 3 weeks in New Zealand a friend and I rented a campervan from CamperCo for 12 days while touring the south island. After putting on 3500 kilometers we never experienced any troubles with any part of the van or campervan experience.
