13 Hamilton
A recently completed 11km walkway along both banks of the Waikato River, which runs through the centre of Hamilton offers endless opportunities to walk, ride bikes, watch boats on the river.
Whether you want to relax and unwind, or burn off some energy with a run or walk, this is the perfect place.
There are access points at each bridge and at the end of most roads that end at the river. It is well sign posted all the way along the river. If you are a Tron local, the 'Round the Bridges' run held in November is the ultimate river run.
Sometimes the river floods and parts of the path can be closed, please obey signage if this is the case.

Nice walk next to the river, if it is warm you can go swimming. There is also a swing bridge.

Pleasant walk with some interesting features - ok on a wet damp day. Enjoyed the aeroplanes etc.
Thanks to all the good people working for the NZ Department of Conservation - for all your hard work - making NZ more beautiful, accessable and healthy! Cheers 😍
