Information

Milford Sound Foreshore Walk

400 m return | 20 minutes return

This is a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Milford Sound and its swarms of tourists jumping on and off boats, buses, planes and helicopters.

Detailed interpretation panels explain the ecology of the foreshore, it’s dynamic nature and the human and natural histories.

The point gains good views of Bowen Falls.

Walking Track

Access

The start of the track is well signposted on the seaward side of the road, in front of the Milford Hotel. A short access track leads from the café.

Track

The track is a mix of boardwalk and metal, even all the way. It forms a short loop, exploring the point and Freshwater Basin.
