Great spot right on the Abel Tasman and therefore also on the beach.
We had a pitch with a direct view of the sea.
Toilets and showers very clean. Showers can be used for unlimited purposes and are very large. Extensive opportunities for recycling, washing and drying clothes.
But quite expensive for a non-powered pitch.
On both days we met really nice staff.

Nice spot by the beach, very touristy location.
It was the most expensive camping place we've been to. Important to say is that there is no dump station, they say because they're off the grid but for the price you're paying it would be nice if it's included.
Staff is very friendly and helpful in organising your trips and excursions.

$54 for 2 pax for a powered site.
Free hot showers and clean toilets. Hair dryer even provided. However, please note the toilets and showers have motion sensors that turn off the lights if they don’t detect motions large enough. Cosy and well equipped kitchen and movie room with board games. There were quite a few groups when we stayed and it was homely. There’s also an outdoor grill and table tennis area. Reception sells some essential supplies as well. We extended our stay one more night :)

What a lovely place to say!
Soacious facilities, friendly staff and fantastic location right at the start of the track, by the beach and near a great restaurant (Park Cafe).
Our site wasn't very flat so we had to manouevre our campervan to be able to have a better night's sleep.

Enjoyed our stay here.
Spacious relaxed site with lots of little extras like table tennis, decking area, yoga. During our stay there was no yoga or food lorry but we soon got over that when we realised it is THE start of the coastal trail and instead of getting the bigger water taxis we could get a small one from 15 minutes up the road with a quirk's ‘boat ride’ tows by a tractor to the slipway. Lots of reviews spare the showers but they are excellent, spacious bathrooms with hot powerful showers. It may have just been us but we failed to find our way to the beach directly from the site as it seemed permanently cut off by channels of water left by the tide but there is access about 15/20 minutes walk away and we preferred the quiet beach to Kaiteriteri. At the start/end of the trail is a great bar/restaurant with beautiful views and good food choices. Note no dump at this site and water is not potable but shop sells water if you are not prepared.

The must stay place in Marahau.
Right at the start of the AT great walk. We stayed here two nights before we did the walk. $28 for 2 people for a site per night so great value at $14 pp. Really good free hot showers. Laundry is $4 was and $4 dry. You can safely park your car there for $5 per day while you are doing the walk. The reception sells organic meat and eggs form their farm, as well as beer, local wine and other essential foods. The staff were very friendly. The common area is well stocked with pots pans and utensils and has oven, gas stoves, microwave, lots of fridges etc. This was my second time staying here as so good. The first time we stayed in a cabin which was also lovely.

Absolute egregious price for what it has.
Yes the amenities were nice in comparison to some sites, but not $45 per person nice. And that is for an unpowered spot on the grass. 45… We had better campsites for several dollars less than half of that. I understand that it’s one of few sites in the area so they can and will charge a bit more, but we have not encountered any place even close to $45 pp per night in the entire South Island

Great spot to stay and walk the track.
We camped 2 nights and hiked the track from the campsite out to Onetahuti getting the water taxi back to Marahau at the the end of the day. Awesome facilities. Clean showers with a view of the ocean. You can buy food from the reception and they also sell meat from the farm and free range eggs.

Big disappointment, actually.
Bathrooms were OK showers weren't very clean and there was nowhere to place your clothes, and got frozen every time someone else started their shower. Kitchens were OK but nothing above average. The price was an outrageous $30 per person for a non powered site - WAY overpriced. Most expensive shower I've ever had 😬
