Information

Dolamore Park was originally bought by the Gore Borough Council in 1940 to establish a public picnic area and provide access into the adjacent Croydon Bush Scenic Reserve in order to maintain it as a wildlife sanctuary.

Dolamore Park is tucked away in native bush in the Hokonui hills, only 10 minutes drive from Gore.

There are walking tracks of various lengths for people to cruise around to check out the native birds and plants. There is also a children’s playground and it is popular for picnics, parties, barbecues and camping. There are 22 powered sites and a dump station.…

Wonderful place with very good facilities (big kitchen with tables, heater..) great hot shower. Nice surroundings. Good place, ten km from the main road. We were alone with no problem. Honesty box.

Lovely scenic grounds. Basic toilets but clean. Great hot shower. Extremely friendly man who collected our fees. Biggest problem was the arrival well after dark of about 4 - 5 noisy cars hooning around us & up and down all the tracks and tearing up the lawns. It was very frightening as we were the only campers there & had no phone coverage.

Excellent site, 10kms out of town surrounded by native bush (lots of bush walks) with large grassed areas & great childrens playground. Camping sites have good access to toilets(public) and kitchen block. Shower available, power available if required. No cellphone reception.

A bit back to basic but with toilet and hot shower. Well maintained, no permanent camp manager, 20km return from main road.

Lovely park with well maintained lawns and great playground area for the kids. $10 per adult and school going children free - what a bargain! Very friendly ranger on site.
