Advertised as NZMCA discount plus gold card discount. Presented both cards plus advertised camp saver. Arrived 2 Nov was charged full price $44 told only applied in summer. WHEN is summer? Will tell all our motorhome friends plus all NZMCA members and all at the rallies we attend not to stay here.

Newly revamped shower & toilet facilities very nice & clean. Limited washing machines (3) for such a large camp-not good. Kitchen really needs upgrading with appliances but was clean and plenty of seating.. No lounge area to watch TV. There was one in kitchen but really needs tuning and readable instructions on how to use/change channels. Toilets closed for TWO hours for cleaning (sometimes longer) when we were there mid jan this year NOT appropriate for the very low number of campers there at this time. The other option was clean, but VERY dark dated loo a good way away. No lighting at night at this one.. No good for me with toilet urgency issues.
15yo(?) daughter could do with customer service training!
Price dosen’t really reflect facilities available. Just a tad too high. For the price, this camp really needs upgrading of some facilities. Especially for kiddies. But we loved it there all the same. Beautiful trees and birds. A lovely feeling of peace early evening.
It would be advantageous for a noise curfew to be imposed especially when kiddies are running around and screaming in fun up to 11:30 pm!
Each camping location is approved by a regional council in NZ. So if it shows on the map, you’re allowed to stay.

Great open areas...near the river. Powered site and simple facilities. Caretakers lovely.

GOOD: Tidy site, with clean facilities. Camp kitchen well equipped and spacious. Quite a bit of space on site, especially if you don't need power hook-up.
BAD: The children's play area has seen better days, a number of broken items (see-saw, swing) which have been broken for many months. Time for some much needed investment.
NOTES: Unfortunately the river adjacent to the camp is no-longer safe to swim in due to toxic algae, although not the fault of the camp, it does diminish the camps appeal for campers with children. There are much better children's play areas at the top of the camp access road, which make good alternatives to the site's.

Not the most value for your money - 3 adults for $56 (which is reasonable) but have to pay for everything from showers to wifi and laundry. Facilities are basic and unfortunately not the cleanest. Nice people that run the park but as far as value for money and comfort - I would move on.
