Holdens Bay Holiday Park is a welcoming, family-friendly holiday park in the peaceful surroundings of Holdens Bay, Rotorua, offering a range of accommodation to suit different budgets and travel styles.
Whether you're travelling with family, exploring New Zealand in a campervan, or looking for a comfortable base to discover Rotorua, we have accommodation to suit. Choose from motel-style units, a variety of cabins, 52 spacious powered sites and unpowered tent sites.
Accommodation
Our accommodation options range from budget-friendly standard cabins with shared facilities to larger kitchen cabins, ensuite cabins and comfortable motel-style units. For campers, we offer spacious grassed powered sites suitable for caravans, campervans, motorhomes, and tents, as well as unpowered sites for tent camping. Selected camping sites are situated alongside the beautiful stream that winds through the park.

Our coin-operated laundry facilities are available for guest use. We also provide a dump station and drinking water taps free of charge for camping guests.
Kitchen kits, including crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, and towels are available for hire from reception where these are not supplied with your accommodation.

Situated in the quiet and picturesque area of Holdens Bay, our holiday park offers a peaceful place to relax while remaining conveniently close to Rotorua's attractions. Lake Rotorua is just a short 5–10 minute walk away, while Rotorua city centre is approximately a 10-minute drive.
Enjoy easy access to the region's many attractions, including mountain biking trails, geothermal parks, lakes, walking tracks and family activities.

Bookings & Check-in
Check-in for accommodation and camping sites is between 2:00pm and 5:30pm. Reception is available to assist with enquiries during opening hours. For after-hours assistance, guests can use the night bell at reception.
Pets are welcome on camping sites by prior arrangement. Bookings are recommended during peak periods.

Great place We were nonpowered right by a little river.

Great little spot we stayed at for 2 nights.
Showers and toilets were clean and plentiful. Designated kitchen area has everything you need - fridge freezer, ovens, stoves, microwaves, kettle, and cleaning facilities. Made use of the laundry room too. Also has a swimming pool & hot pools which was a nice to unwind in.

Facilities block was very clean except the laundry area which need some love.
The facilities are dated but clean. No cooking utensils available in the kitchen so you bring your own. One washer we could not get to work and the wifi was quite poor reception. Staff were very friendly.

Very friendly staff, we arrived past check-in and able to contact the owner who was very helpful and said to park up and pay in the morning.
Good amenities- clean and not far away. Reasonable price. Not much of a view and a few plane’s overhead but would still recommend staying.

Close to Rotorua and all main attractions.
No smell of sulfur. Close to the airport (although no noise from this during the night).
Kitchen is basic and a bit on the small side, but clean.
Toilet building is outdated. Showers are free and hot. Toilets weren't cleaned (or not cleaned properly) during our 2 night stay.

Really nice campsite!
Clean and lots of facilities, good wifi, dump station and fresh water, very nice and maintained grassy sides, good working free wifi. Very clos to all the things Rotorua and the area has to offer. Very nice people in reception, very helpful. 20$ adult powered site, can‘t ger better than that in a very touristy area like Rotorua.

This is the worst camp ive ever experienced ants throughout cabin solution by manager take a can of fly spray to kill them after changing rooms kitchen appliances were missing rusty knives dirty plates
the campsite lawns are good but the cleanness of the property would rate -0 the main lounge tv room area bins floors not cleaned after 8 days toilet block disgusting I resorted to showering at a relatives home the reception staff were not helpful and to be honest very rude i would highly recommend to any one saying here don't

One of the better campsites we experienced and with the special deal offered of NZ$18 per person it was also a very reasonable price.
Located not far from the airport means that you do occasionally get the noise from low flying aircraft - but they are commuter traffic arriving at 3 main times with workers and tourists! The facilities were great - clean and functional. The campsite wasn't full - it is large and roomy - so although Rotorua is a tourist destination it still didn't feel crowded. There are shops nearby if you need supplies and the main commercial centre is a short drive down the road. We were very happy with the setup and facilities and I would recommend the site to anyone who doesn't want to be located right in the centre of town.

Great crew, decent space and it wasn't filled up, but hot pools were available and showers and all was great.
We paid 18$ pp, which is in the somewhat expensive end, but rather that then support other cheap option accused of harassment and racism. Beside, Rotorua is rather busy and full of activities, which the crew is happy to tell you all about.

This was a great place to stay.
Everything from the toilets and hot showers, to the pool (unheated!) to the hot pools (two!), to the kitchen and playground, and the wonderful staff were spot on.
The only niggling negative would be that it’s right under the flight path for the airport, however I was there most of the day and there were only two flights.
It’s in a quiet neighborhood which is a plus, but a long way from services so be prepared.
I would stay multiple days here if needed.
