This company will charge you a 10% cancellation fee during Covid-19 when we have no other option as New Zealand is in lockdown and we simply CANNOT travel. 
I manage a car rental company in Australia and we have cancelled all bookings without fee as it is beyond the customer's control.
Thank you for my "future credit" but seriously, have a think about the loss of customer's you will experience due to this absolute greed.

I had to very quickly book a rental for an unexpected trip and was very pleased with the ease GO Rentals made the process. In a matter of minutes I was booked with a very affordable rate and given clear details for pick up at Dunedin airport. The whole process was a breeze with lovely personnel ready to answer any question or sort any issues. Would definitely rent from GO again and have recommended them to my friends and family. I am glad they were recommended to me.

Ryan from Claims dept provided me with excellent service. He followed up closely with the 350 excess claim which was withhold pending investigation into the truck that hit my car from rear. Though the other party claimed that I was at fault, Ryan was persistent. He put much effort to look for the company of the truck, speak to the insurance company of the company and get things sorted out. This is amazing! Now the excess has been returned to me.

As an expat kiwi returning home several times a year, GO Rentals has become my go to rental car company. The cars have always been reliable, the staff are fantastic to deal with and checking in and out is a breeze. I particularly like that you and a company rep walk around the car together and make notes about any marks, damage etc. Everything is very transparent. Costs are reasonable and I would highly recommend them.

Go rentals refused to accept my debit card to hold the vehicle bond (which I had done with other car rental companies such as Omega rentals) and instead I was required to take out insurance for the excess at a cost of $180 which I didn’t need (I already had rental car excess included in my travel insurance). Do not use this company as as their policies are inflexible and outdated.

Took ages wading through car rental options. Read heaps reviews, good and bad. Contacted several companies with questions etc. Wanted a car for a month. One company was just not interested in helping us at all. Go Rentals answered all our questions, gave discount and added some small incentives. Was able to take car on ferry. Drop off at different location to pick up. Pick up and drop off were hassle free. Had a cracked windscreen during the trip, contacted them, bit of back and forth, as was after hours Friday night, but all sorted to suit us and our itinerary. No issues with car mechanics at all. Took us everywhere we wanted to go. Few chips and scratches on car at pick up, which made the whole trip less stressful. Would highly recommend taking out full insurance. Yes, in case you have an accident, but also lots of road works in NZ, chips, windscreen damage etc. inevitable. Extremely happy with our choice.

Incompetent.

(The worst experience possible from a car rental agency, totally ruined our holiday experience)

1)
- We were charged twice for a $2,500 bond and we went in to the rental agency 4-5 times during the week to cancel the bond, however the staff weren't passing on the information to the accountant, nor was this raised to the on-site manager.
- We were lied to and told on numerous occasions that the $2,500 had been released, however it wasn't as the over-charged amount was finally released 8 business working days after the initial charge.
($5,000 of our money was held while we were on holiday)

2)
- We returned the car a few days later as the bumper was coming off from the front of the car as it was visibly glued back in place.
- The car rim was hanging off on the side and this could of come off and hit another car or a person, thus making us liable for any damage or injury.
(This previous damage was not mentioned during the pre-inspection)

- A replacement vehicle was provided and then we were charged $50 for an administration fee + $80 a police speeding fine.
However, we weren't given the vehicle on that day.

Other main concerns:
- How many times has this happened to other tourists, and does this happen frequently with over-charging and faulty vehicles?
- Why wasn't our concerns escalated to an on site manager or the head office?
- With the overcharging of a $2,500 bond.. how would we have paid for our food, accomodation and expenses if we didn't have any extra money with us?

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO GO WITH "GO RENTALS" !

What is Tantamount to half way legitimised fraud. Ring fenced $2500 on our Credit card as we had our own insurance. Now state that it will take 10 (TEN) working days to re credit this back to our card.
Totally unacceptable. Go Rentals....well our monthly trips to Wellington won't be involving Go Rentals. Keep an eye out for Trip Advisor feedback, AA feedback, Rental Car industry Feedback, Fair Go feed back. Go Rentals - Ineffective, Inconsiderate and Incompetent.
