The most amazing place.

Such a beautiful campground, nobody was there and there’s plenty of flat space for the van.
Probably one of the most peaceful no car noise I ever done. Same here as the last comments, the coordinate or a bit off. Just go over the bridge and on your right there’s a sign for the camping area. There’s a gate with chain but no lock. Keep the gate close after going in or out. 😊☀️

Beautifully situated right by the river.
To get there it takes about 10-20min depending on you speed on the gravel road. As others have mentioned, continue until you pass the 3rd bridge. The camping area is ob the right hand side guarded by a gate that is not locked. There are two signs, one on each side of the gate. If you got time, plan 2 nights here. It was the most picturesque place for us so far.

A unique camping spot surrounded by sheep, a beautiful river and a picturesque landscape.
Quite a few insects and sand fly’s, arrive by nightfall and LOCK YOURSELF IN!!! 8/10 highly recommended for nature lovers.

Definitely no phone reception at all!
But the spot is very nice, lots of space. There was 4 other vans that night so not completely by ourselves. I’d say it takes more around 15mins from the main road if you’re not too slow.

Such a quiet, peaceful and beautiful camp.
We spent a night here and were lucky enough to only have one other person join. The river was beautiful! Maps are a bit off so keep going over across the bridge and on the right hand side you’ll see a sign.

One of THE BEST free campsites we have stayed at on the South Island.
The directions of where the site is, is slightly off. Keep going until you see the signed gate which is chained but not locked. We had the place to ourselves. Plenty of space for multiple self contained camper vans and motor homes. So peaceful.
