Large camping area with plenty of spots to camp.
The site is down a winding country road and offers nice surrounds along a riverside. The toilets were okay, long drops but no loo paper! (But to be expected given the more remote location of this campsite). Free to stay, definitely worth it.

Lovely spot beside the lake and a large area for camping.
Flush toilets and running water in the bathrooms. Really picturesque and worth $8 a night. Dog friendly. A nice escape from the business of central Rotorua!

Small campsite in the thick of the forest.
Beautiful surroundings! It was a bit busy over easter weekend but we found a spot for our van. It's a reasonable drive in on a gravel road. There is a toilet (with loo paper!) but no running water. Some amazing walking tracks nearby. I'd definitely recommend.

Really nice campsite with quirky decor and collectibles lying about the place.
Fantastic showers! there was a little group of chickens wandering around too which were very cute. Nice owner, cheap to pitch a tent. Nicely mowed lawns and pleasant views of the surrounding hills.

A really cool place, with a rather hilarious (and somewhat off the wall) owner who cracks some good jokes!
he showed me a cool place to pitch my tent and helped me with my laundry. There are lovely farm animals to pat, a pool, a nice, clean kitchen with a bunch of appliances and free food shelf. Definitely a highlight staying at this place during my trip.

Lovely, welcoming camp with immaculately mowed lawns, great showers and nice little spots for camping.
A great respite after cycling all day. Friendly owner too! I paid $15 to pitch my tent in a shady area by a stream. This was one of the best campsites I stayed at during my trip.

Pleasant camp by the river.
A nice spot to stay on the Forgotten World Highway, with nicely kept lawns, lots of spots for a tent and the river which you can swim in! (just be careful of the strong current). $10 a night to pitch a tent. There was a very noisy dog on a farm property across the road that barked all evening, and all morning which was really disruptive. Otherwise, a nice doc camp.

Free camping, super friendly owner who let me stay in a caravan for the night (I was cycling).
Pleasant surrounds, with a big shop with hot meals and lots of food! There were also some cute cats wandering around the property. The lawns at this place were amazing! No showers but toilet facilities are available.
