Especially the sand dunes itself were breathtaking because they were just like placed into the green bush.
Also, the boarding down the dunes was nice - you have to stand up!

Scenic walk up the mountain, especially the part up to the Pinnacle Summit was pretty good.

Nature at its best!
So beautiful, especially the Mt Ngauruhoe Summit was worth it for all the Lord of the Rings fans. A real volcanic cone with a crater at its top (nature that you usually only see in the movies).
