Nice place near town.
There can be a lot of people. The hot pools are near the river so when you swim, it is hot on top and cold in the bottom - strange and fun!!

Abel Tasman Coast Track
We took a boat to reach the start of our walk (8 hours).
The skipper was very nice and funny. The walk is very beautiful, with forest and amazing beaches with turquoise water. It is an easy track, a lot of campsites on the way.

Very beautiful walk with amazing landscapes.
The track is well signposted and it is not that hard. The end in the forest was a bit long, but it is worth it.

It was an amazing experience.
The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable., not too scary. Why not a 10?, because the video combo price was expensive.

Waipoua Forest Camping Area
A good surprise!
There was a kitchen with chairs and table and showers. It was the first time we saw such a DOC campground and it was very convenient as it was very rainy.

We liked the fact that it was totally free and in a very beautiful place, almost on the beach.
Public toilets are near which is convenient.

Te Pā Tū Maori Cultural Experience
We spent a very good evening at the Tamaki Village.
We learnt a lot about Maori Culture and we enjoyed taking part in the activities. The show was very good and dinner as well. A little bit expensive for backpackers.

Nelson isite Visitor Information Centre
This is a huge place full of information.
We planned our trip to Abel Tasman there. There are a lot of things about anything you want to do in the region. A bit overcrowded.

Museum of New Zealand
Huge museum where you can learn a lot of things.
A lot of fun activities to do. As it is free, you can so a part one day and come back another day, which is good because a whole day in a museum can be exhausting.
